Rules & Regulations – Rapid Rating Chess Tournament

Dates: 7th & 8th June 2025

1.Eligibility: Open to all chess players; GMs, IMs, WGMs, and WIMs are eligible for free entry.
2.System of Play: The tournament will follow the FIDE Laws of Chess using the Swiss System over 9
rounds. Round 1 will start at 11 am 7th June 2025.
3.Time Control: Each player gets 15 minutes plus a 10-second increment starting from move one.
4.Tie-Breaks: In case of a tie, the latest FIDE-approved tie-break systems will be used.
5.AICF Registration: AICF registration for the session 2025–26 is mandatory before submitting the
entry.
6.SBDS Registration: Sara Bangla Daba Sangstha (SBDS) registration for the session 2025–26 is
compulsory (for West Bengal Players).
7.Final Authority: The Chief Arbiter’s decisions on all matters will be final and binding.
8.Electronic Devices: Mobile phones and wrist watches are strictly prohibited inside the
tournament hall; violation leads to game loss.
9.Default Time: Players arriving 15 minutes after round start will be declared lost by default.
10.Appeals Committee: Before the commencement of the Tournament, appeals committee will be
formed from the senior participants present at the players meeting. The appeals committee
decisions will be final and binding on all participants.
11.Protests: Protests if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with
protest fee of Rs.1,000/- (deposited in Organiser's bank account) within 10 minutes of the
occurrence of the incident to the appeals committee. The protest fee will be refunded if the
appeal is upheld.
12.Withdrawals: Players must inform the Chief Arbiter in writing if withdrawing; absence without
notice is considered unauthorized.
13.Prize Distribution: Winners must attend the prize distribution to receive awards; no proxy or
absentee claims allowed. Prize Distribution at 4 pm 8th June 2025.
14.Accommodation: Accommodation and food will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis
upon payment.
15.Prize: No prize sharing allowed; a player will receive only the highest prize they are eligible for.
16.Right to Reject Entry: The organizer holds the right to reject any entry without stating a reason.
