PARTICULAR CARE IN ODER TO PREVENT THE
INGRESS OF FOREIGN MATTER INTO THE MGB.
INSTALL PROTECTIONS, IF NECESSARY.

NOTE 2

During the operations of the paragraph below, take

photographs of each step and parts installed in the MGB, for
archiving purposes.

As per Figure 1 (Details A and C and SECTION A-A) and Figure 2

- Mark positions of components to be removed and their disposition, including the four clamp attachment
lugs (h) and (m) (Figure 1, Detail A and Figure 2, Detail E).
- Remove, inspect and clean these components.
- Remove attachment support (g) from hydraulic pipes (Figure 1, Detail C).

. select a new shim (1d), (1e) or (1f) closest to the value of dimension E10’ obtained.
- Check for presence of seal (1p) on upper cover of epicyclic reduction gear.

CAUTION

THE VACUUM BETWEEN TUBE, CROWN AND

HOUSING WILL BE FILLED WITH GREASE (18)
BEFORE INSTALLING THE GASKETS (1n).

CAUTION

AS PER THE PRE OR POST MOD STANDARD

0763C52 OF THE EPICYCLIC REDUCTION GEAR,
THE SCREWS (1j) ARE DIFFERENT AS WELL AS
THE TIGHTENING TORQUES. THE PRE MOD
0763C52 TIGHTENING TORQUE IS IDENTICAL TO
THE PRE MOD 0763C62 TIGHTENING TORQUE.
REFER TO APPENDIX 4.C.2.

NOTE 4

Reminder of the symbol as per Appendix 4.C.2.:

CM518 anti-corrosion agent.

- As per Appendix 4.C.2. and using new spare parts (1a) to (1n) after interlaying sealant (16):
. Assemble on a work bench the new epicyclic reducer (1) and the fixed-ring gear (e),

the fixed ring gear,
. install the removed components in accordance with their marked position and disposition,
. install the epicyclic reduction gear (1) / fixed ring gear (e) assembly on the MGB,
. install attachment support (g) of the hydraulic pipes,
. check that tubes (f) are fully against and towards the MGB.

NOTE 5

Draw special attention to the positioning of the upper cover

of epicyclic reduction gear (1) in relation to the fixed ring
gear.

- If it has been removed, install the upper reinforcement (j) according to the principle of Work
Card 21-50-30-401 or 21-50-31-401 or 21-50-32-401 or 21-50-33-401 or 21-50-34-401 (MET)
(not shown) (Figure 2, detail F).
- Apply a bead of sealant to nuts (1c) of fixed ring gear (e) using sealant (17).
- Apply a bead of sealant to the heads of bolts (1h) and (1j) using sealant (16).
- Fill the holes used for extractors using sealant (16).
