1. Software Running Environment
This Pbms software runs on PC and compatible machines, using the WINDOWS

operating system which has NET Framework 2.0 or above frameworks. It does not

require separate installation; it can be run and used by simply double-clicking the

main program icon in the folder.

2. Communication Connection
2.1. Communication Interface

Note: Different communication connection methods can be provided according to

customer.

2.2. RS232 Communication Cable Connection

DB9 to RJ11 Cable

RS232 to USB
Converter

1. As shown in the above images of DB9 to RJ11 cable, the leftmost pin of RJ11
connector is pin1 which pin3(Green), pin4(white), pin5(blue) correspond to
pins2, pin3, and pin5 of the DB9 connector respectively.

2. Please ensure that each pin of the communication cable is connected. The best
way to verify this is using a multimeter to measure.

3. The RJ11 connector connects to the RS232 interface of the RS232 to USB
Converter, and the USB end of the RS232 to USB Converter connects to the
USB port of the computer.

2.3. RS485 Communication Cable Connection

5/11
RS485 to USB
Converter

DB9 to RJ45 Cable

1. As shown in the images of DB9 to RJ45 cable, the leftmost pin of RJ45 connector is
pin1 which Pin 1 and pin 8 correspond to RS485-B, Pin 2 and pin 7 correspond to
RS485-A.
2. Pin 3 and pin 6 of RJ45 connector is ground. Pin 4 and pin 5 of RJ45 connector is NC.
3. RS485-A and RS485-B correspond to pins 1 and 2 of the DB9 connector respectively.
4. Make sure the communication cable pins are connected.
5. The best way to ensure this is to measure with a multimeter.

2.4. Communicate with the Upper Computer

Note:
Step 1: Ensure that the battery is normally powered on and non-dormant state, crystal
head of DB9 to RJ45 cable inserted into the RJ45 port, USB terminal inserted into the
computer;
Step 2: Double-click to start the Pbms software in upper computer;
Step 3: On the “RealTimeMonitor” window, Click the "OpenSerial" button to search for the
serial port to try the connection. Serial port and Adr need to modify if the parameter is not
correct.

6/11
Note: The reasons for the serial port connection failure, which may be:
 Use the wrong upper computer. Method: replace the correct version of the upper
computer
 Poor communication cable or wrong wiring. Method: change another communication
cable or correct the wrong wiring
 The computer USB interface is not recognized. Method: change another USB port of
upper computer
 The driver of USB converter is not installed. Method: install the driver suitable for the
communication line.
