CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The community service report shall have only a one-page executive summary. It
shall include a brief description of the Community and summary of all the activities
done by the student in CSP and five or more learning objectives and outcomes.
[Village Name] is a rural village located in [District/State], known for its agricultural heritage
and traditional customs. The community comprises people from different social and economic
backgrounds. Most villagers are engaged in farming and daily wage labor, with limited access to
modern healthcare and sanitation facilities. Despite these challenges, the village has a close-knit
and cooperative spirit, with traditions of mutual support and respect for elders.
Project Overview
This 56-day community service project focused on sanitation, hygiene awareness, and waste
management in [Village Name]. The main goal was to improve the cleanliness of the village and
educate the villagers, especially the youth and women, about the importance of hygiene and proper
sanitation practices. As a single student volunteer, I took on the responsibility of cleaning public
spaces, conducting awareness programs, and working directly with the villagers to implement
long-term solutions.
Sanitation Drives: Cleaned streets, drains, and other key areas. Used basic tools like brooms,
gloves, and bleaching powder.
Waste Management: Implemented waste segregation practices, installed dustbins in public areas,
and helped create compost pits.
School Engagement: Organized activities for schoolchildren to teach handwashing and cleanliness
through competitions and interactive lessons.
1. Improved Leadership Skills: Learned how to plan and lead a community service project
independently, managing time and resources effectively.
3. Community Engagement: Fostered a strong relationship with the village community, which
led to increased participation in cleanliness efforts.
4. Increased Awareness of Rural Issues: Gained a deeper understanding of rural health and
sanitation challenges, and the importance of long-term community-driven solutions.
CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY
❖ About the Community/Village/Habitation including historical profile of the
community/habitation, community diversity, traditions, ethics and values. ❖ Brief note on
Socio-Economic conditions of the Community/Habitation.
The community selected for this 56-day community service project was [Village Name], a
small rural village located in [District/State]. The village has a rich cultural background and follows
traditional customs passed down through generations.
Historically, [Village Name] is known for its connection to agriculture and local festivals.
Most people in the village follow traditional occupations such as farming, weaving, and animal
rearing. The community is closely knit, and village elders are highly respected for their wisdom and
guidance. Traditional values such as hospitality, cooperation, and respect for elders are strongly
followed.
The village also celebrates festivals like [mention a few local festivals] with great
enthusiasm, bringing all castes and communities together. There is a local temple that is central to
village life and is a symbol of unity and faith.
The village population includes people from different castes and social backgrounds,
but they live peacefully and help each other during farming seasons, festivals, and family events.
Though the literacy rate is moderate, there is a growing interest in education, especially among the
younger generation.
The people value honesty, hard work, and simplicity. Traditional attire and local language
are still used in daily life, although mobile phones and television have started influencing modern
habits.
