BMS TALENT FIESTA 2025 – AUDITION GUIDELINES

Compering

1. The time allotted for each performance is 2-3 minutes.


2. Only individual attempts are permitted. Must be bilingual/trilingual.
3. Participants should follow an original script and must be ready for improvisation if required.
4. Participants will not be allowed to refer to the phone or paper.

Singing- Solo/Duet

1. The time allotted for each performance is 4-5 minutes.


2. Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics (on the phone/paper) while singing.
3. The participants will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity, rhythm and their
appeal to the audience.
4. Live background music/accompaniment is encouraged; however, instrumental tracks are also
permitted.
5. Choice of the song is open to the participants. Any language is permitted.
6. Mashups will not be permitted for solo performances.

Singing- Group

1. The time allotted for each performance is 5-7 minutes.


2. The group must consist of a minimum of 5 members.
3. Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics (on the phone/paper) while singing.
4. The group will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity, rhythm and their appeal to
the audience.
5. Live background music/accompaniment is encouraged; however, instrumental tracks are also
permitted.
6. Choice of the song/mashup is open to the participants. Any language is permitted.

Dancing (Solo/Duet/Group)

1. The time allotted for solo/duet performance: 4-5 minutes; group performances: 5-7 minutes.
2. Participants should perform the full routine.
3. The participants will be judged on the choreography, synchronization, song selection, rhythm
and their appeal to the audience.
4. Live background music/accompaniment is encouraged; however, instrumental tracks are also
permitted.
5. Choice of the song/mashup is open to the participants. Any language is permitted.

Drama or Skit/Parody

1. The time allotted for each performance is 10 minutes.


2. The group must consist of a minimum of 5 characters.
3. The script of the drama should be submitted at the audition.
4. Required costumes, props, makeup and music for the final performance must be arranged by
students.
5. Choice of the script is open to the participants; however, the scenes should be bilingual or
trilingual, and not contain any derogatory language.

Speed Drawing

1. The time allotted for each performance is 4-5 minutes.


2. Individual or group performances are allowed.
3. The performance must be original. If found to be copied, the performance will be disqualified
from the event.
4. Use of glitter is permitted; however, make necessary arrangements to remove the scraps from
the stage.

Instrumental

1. The time allotted for each performance is 5-7 minutes.


2. Any musical instrument can be used. The performers must bring their own instruments for both
auditions and final performances.
3. Voices can be used to support acoustics; however, lyrics should not be sung.
4. Choice of the song/mashup is open to the participants. Any language is permitted.

Standup Comedy/ Mimicking/ Miming/ Magic Show

1. The time allotted for each performance is 4-5 minutes.


2. Individual or group performances are allowed.
3. The performance must be original. If found to be copied from another comic or public speaker,
the performance will be disqualified from the event.
4. Use of visual aid is permitted.

***The performance should not contain any or derogatory language. It should be disrespectful to any
religion, caste, race or political party.
