TECHNICAL PROPOSAL | TELECOM SHELTER MONITORING

SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The solution consists of different sensors integrated with our IoT Controller, which

continuously monitor and analyze parameters like temperature, battery voltage, inverter

readings, fuel levels etc. The Datalogger collects, store, and transmit the sensor parameters

to a remote server(s) via Cellular network. The parameter values can be queried from the

Datalogger through authorized mobile numbers configured in the Datalogger. Recorded

Sensor readings can be downloaded directly from the data logger to the PC Via LAN /

Pendrive.

The offered solution provides continuous observation of the following parameters.

a) Temperature Monitoring
b) DG Monitoring
c) Inverter Monitoring
d) Battery Monitoring
e) Energy meter Monitoring
f) AC Monitoring
g) Power fail detection
h) Surveillance System

The sensors can connect directly to the data logger without any signal conditioning.

Data logger will store the readings with date time stamp in the flash memory (SD card) at

predefined user configured intervals. Datalogger supports built-in algorithms to validate

each parameter's readings to ensure quality and reliability. Email / SMS alerts can be

configured for maintenance officers for immediate attention.

TECHNICAL PROPOSAL | TELECOM SHELTER MONITORING

SYSTEM FEATURES

I. DATALOGGER
• Datalogger supports built-in sensor interfaces (Analog/Digital), details of which are

available in the specification. All the sensors can connect directly to the data logger

without any signal conditioning.

• Datalogger supports custom sampling intervals for the sensors.

• Real time monitoring of all the sensors connected to the datalogger.

• Data transmission to the server will be triggered automatically based on the user-

configured intervals through cellular networks (4G/3G/2G).

• Supports SMTP, FTP, HTTP, MQTT and SMS

• Data Logging will continue during the network connectivity failure and Re-attempts

the unsuccessful transmission records once the Cellular connectivity re-established.

• Data Logger Supports logging and transmission of the data simultaneously.

• The data sampling intervals shall be configurable individually from 1 min to 24

hours

• Customized algorithms to check the quality of data.

• Configuration of the system via PC software. This feature is protected by password.

• Provision to store the data in an SD card (in-built) with date time stamp.

• Data Logger has built-in battery for RTC. Periodic time sync from cellular network

• Provision to download the data to PC.

• Indication of network availability

• An external antenna will be provided for better signal reception.

II. TEMPERATURE MONITORING

The system continuously monitors the temperature level of the shelter room. The high

and low thresholds can be configured in the datalogger for alarm generation. If there is

an increase or decrease in the temperature, an alarm will be generated. The generated

alarm will be transmitted to the server.

III. INVERTER MONITORING

The system monitors the Inverter Parameter (if any communication ports are available)

IV. DG MONITORING

The system continuously monitors the DG parameters like DG Status, DG Run Time, DG

Fuel level, etc. The monitored parameter will be sent to the server

V. AC MONITORING
The system monitors all AC parameters line, AC runs Status, Run hour, AC Frill

Temperature. Auto on and off the AC system based on the temperature level. All the

monitored parameters can be viewed in the web application.

VI. BATTERY MONITORING SYSTEM

The system monitors the battery parameters like Voltage, Temperature, Current, Ah, Wh,

etc. The system will provide Present state of the battery bank, Health of each individual

battery in the battery bank, and the Failure conditions of batteries to alert the user.

VII. ENERGY METER MONITORING

The system monitors the Energy meter Parameters (if any communication ports are

available), and transmits the data to the server

VIII. POWER FAIL DETECTION

To detect the power outage events, we use individual relays on each power rail. When

the supply is available, the relay will remain in engaged condition, hence the output

contacts will be in the closed position. When any of the line fails, the corresponding relay

output status will change. It is captured by the digital input of the datalogger and

considered a power outage.

The event shall be reported to the central monitoring station and generate the alarm

MONITORING APPLICATION
Cellcomm monitoring software is a web-based graphic user interface to control,

configure, store, monitor and manage real-time parameters and alarms. Monitoring

software is developed for monitoring the data from the Datalogger over the Cellular

network or LAN interface, and the data will be stored in the database for further analysis.

Software is designed as a web based application so user can be access the application

from any PCs / Mobile which are connected to internet. User can access the application

with user credentials. The software is developed to run on the Microsoft Windows operating

system. Data will be stored in SQL database and web site shall be hosted in IIS of the

server. The functionality of the software is to collect, store, analyse and display weather

data received from dataloggers installed in the telecom shelters.

Software design considers the below points to have a better performance platform for

easy operation and equipment maintenance.

1. The software shall be capable of receiving data from multiple dataloggers

simultaneously.

2. Monitoring software shall have the facility to view the station-wise data in tabular

format and graphical format for the stations and time selected and export data into

Text and Excel (CSV) files format in real-time.

3. Data collection platform shall work 24x 7 in the system background without any

human interface.

4. It is designed to receive the GPRS data /SMS from the configured stations.
