lab2-RC-Oscillators-2018
Theory:
Aβ>1 at ω=ω0, is the sufficient condition to start the oscillation but this results in a
pole pair in the RHP. In f a c t , the amplitude of oscillation grows exponentially.
The designer must think som e approac h that pulls the pole pair right back to the
imaginary axis after the desired amplitude level has been obtained.
Ideal gain requirement for W ein bridge oscillator is 3 and for RC phase shift
oscillator is 29.
Procedure
Prelab
1. Use multisim software to simulate the Wien Bridge and RC Phase Shift
Oscillators shown above.
2. As part of the prelab print all the schematic diagrams of your circuits
including the part that shows how the frequency of oscillation is measured
using the Multisim Oscilloscope.
Post Lab
Write a lab report which includes components of the multisim simulation as well
as the using the actual equipment in the lab and comment on any deviations
between Multisim and the actual results from the lab. Your report must include
all multisim schematics diagrams.
