Subject: Participation in Technothlon 2025 Organized by Techniche, IIT Guwahati - reg.

The 22nd edition of Technothlon, the International School Championship organized by


Techniche, IIT Guwahati, will be held in July 2025. Technothlon is an event aimed at igniting logical
and analytical thinking in school students and is a flagship component of IIT Guwahati's annual
Techno-Management Festival - Techniche.

Technothlon is conducted in two rounds, the Prelims (On 13th July 2025) and the Mains (to be
conducted on 28-31 August 2025). The Prelims are conducted in two examination sets, referred to as
Squads. Students of Classes 9 and 10 will be in the JUNIORS squad, while students of Classes 11
and 12 will be in the HA UTS squad. The top 25 teams from each squad qualify for the Mains round.

Details are hereunder:


• Rounds of Competition:
o Technothlon is conducted in two rounds
o Prelims (13 July 2025): Conducted within each KV.
o Mains (28-31 August 2025): Held offline at IIT Guwahati during Techniche.
• Eligibility :
o It is a team-based event, conducted in two examination sets, referred as Squads (Juniors
& Hauts):
• JUNIORS Squad: Classes 9 & 10
• HAUTS Squad: Classes 11 & 12
• Each team comprises two members (both should be from the same squad). No
individual entries will be accepted
• Registration Process:
Each Kendriya Vidyalayas to send the details of students, team-wise, in an Excel sheet
(sample format which contains details of the faculty coordinator, school and students is
attached) to the email id: [email protected]
• No registration fee for KV students.
• Any number of teams can participate from a school
• Procedure for conducting the Prelims Examination (13 July 2025):
o Each Kendriya Vidyalaya will conduct the exam internally within its school premises.
o PDFs of the question papers, OMR sheets and attendance sheets will be sent by IIT
Guwahati to KVs designated email ID by 10 July 2025. KVs will take printouts of the
question papers and OMRs and conduct the exam during school hours on the specified
date, ensuring proper invigilation.
o After the exam, scanned OMR sheets must be emailed to [email protected] by
the KVs for evaluation.
0 Results will be declared on the IIT Guwahati Techniche website and shared with KVs
in the last week of July.

• Details about the Mains Round:
o After the Preliminary Exam, the Mains round which is the final stage of Technothlon
will be conducted offline at IIT Guwahati during Techniche 2025 ( during annual
techno-management festival) from 28th August to 31st August 2025 which will involves
interactive, logic-based problem-solving events, workshops and exposure to the IIT
· environment. Also, for participating in these events, there are no prerequisites, i.e.,
everything will be taught to them and they will be tested based on their understanding.
o The top 25 teams selected from each squad across all schools (including private,
government and KVs) will qualify for the Mains round. In addition, a special provision
has been made for KV students: the top 2 teams from each squad in every Kendriya
Vidyalaya, including international KVs, will be directly invited to the Mains,
regardless of their national ranking. A list of the Top 10 KV rankers from each squad
will also be published.

• The winners of the Mains Event will win prize of a 2.5 Lakh prize pool or trips to NASA
andISRO.

Therefore, it is requested to instruct Principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas under the Region to


disseminate the information to students and teachers and ensure maximum participation in the
programme. If students selects for the Main Round, travel arrangements for students and escort
teacher will be made by the respective KVs. Accommodation and meals during the Main Round
will be provided at IIT Guwahati Guest House or hostel rooms at a nominal cost for all participating
students and escort teacher. Detailed travel and accommodation instructions will be shared in
advance by IIT Guwahati with the qualifying teams.

Principals of overseas KVs (KV Moscow, KV Kathmandu and KV Tehran) are also requested to
disseminate the -information and ensure maximum participation under the same arrangements.
Travel, accommodation, and meal provisions for these KVs will be the same as those for KVs in
India.

Further, all updates, reminders and relevant resources will be communicated by IIT Guwahati
