ANSWER :
Ephesians 4:11-16 (KJV)
[11]And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers;
[12]For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13]Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15]But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
[16]From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the
edifying of itself in love.
Paul begins to show us that Gods purpose is about a collective, yet the implication of that purpose to the
individual is that such person has their own role to play, so as to say to walk worthy of your calling from
which that word “calling” itself is from a word “church”, because being in that church is that we were called
to be part of the whole and there is something that is a design for me to do, and he talks about his
responsibility in Ephesians 4:7, and the grace here is a specific responsibility and it’s the same way he
spoke of that same “grace” in Ephesians 3:2, where a grace was given to him as a dispensation which is
a responsibility being a house manager. So there is actually a thing as a possibility of me creating my own
will for myself but there is such a thing as what He wants ( John 4:34, John 6:38).
Now, once a man finds himself in Gods purpose which is about the collective, such a man has a core
implication to himself, individually the reality of Gods plan for His/Her life. Some people may never know
that there is Gods plan for their life, some will discover, few will pursue it and fewer will fulfil it. It’s not
enough to know Gods plan for my life but to discover it, outside and most importantly to fulfil it, therefore
success in life is not determined by my own will for my life, neither is failures it’s also not determined by
the world but the truth, which is in Jesus ( Ephesians 4:21) true success is by what Jesus calls success
and this is actually pursuing and fulfilling what God said to do, every other thing is a waste of time and life.
How do I discover it, pursue and then fulfill it?
Firstly, theee is a reality if Gods pls so to know it calls for us to find it out and not to create something to
substitute for at it actually is, and it doesn’t matter whether we like or not. Gods written revelation which
primarily captures His overall purpose, it’s from there I begin to know His individual plan for me . 1
Timothy 2:3-4, to know Gods will for an individual today is that firstly the individual is
1.) Saved, ( Salvation) as Gods wants all to be saved not just some (2 Peter 3:9)
2.) The local church, the church was birthed because of discipleship and this is done by people doing
it to me and I follow and receive it. So that man that is saved must now be in the local church
doing what the lord Jesus sent us to do, which is to make disciples of a particular message
( Ephesians 4:11-16)
3.) Spiritual growth, now it’s one thing to be taught and it’s another thing to be receiving what the
church is doing ( 1 Peter 2:1, James 1:21-25)
4.) Ministry, such individual in Gods will usdt be doing the work of ministry, as seen in 2 Corinthians
5:17-21, it’s a ministry of a mesage to be preached and taught
5.) Specifics in the leading of the spirit, The believer has to now give himself to the leading of the
spirit to do the specifics of Gods will and plan. The leading of the spirit is the witness to certain
questions that we ask about Gods plan the inward witness( what, where when, how and who) so
the result of finding out and discovering Gods plan is a consecration to the same ( consecration to
find out in full, and the consecration to get it done ) and this is vital
ANSWER :
Ephesians 4:11-16 (KJV)
[11]And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers;
[12]For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13]Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
One of the areas by which most believers are susceptible to being tossed around is that of
direction, when I’m being led is it God leading or talking to me or is it my mind. The saints are
those who believe in Christ ( Ephesians 1:1) so the saint isn’t someone that is already perfect
but the one who Christ has set apart unto himself and the key feature of such a person is what
we see in verse 13, even our discipleship is upin the reality and around the reality of the
indwelling spirit ( Matthew 28:18-20) the man that is baptized now has the Holy ghost upon
salvation. So it begins with and it’s based on the indwelling spirit, meaning no man is a disciple
of Christ that isn’t first in dwelled by the spirit( Romans 8:9). A believer should be able tonkane
distinctions between himself and the world, he isn’t in the flesh ( darkness) but in the spirit
(light).
The way we receive the spirit shows us a very important aspect or a very important thing to be
discipled on, as regards the things of the spirit, we received the spirit when we believed the
gospel, matter of fact believing the gospel itself is by the spirit, as the spirit was actively involved
in getting us to believe, here the spirit was persuading then about its message, so the
demonstration is the spirit showing forth and the demonstration was actually crucified Christ.
The very first engagement that a man would have prior to salvation is the sprite leading him,
persuading him, in verse 16 of Romans 8, the spirit corroborates with our spirits. The spirit of
involved in giving witness or evidence of the truth into salvation to all men, and it doesn’t end
there, the spirit bears that we are sons of God that our spirit and that of God are now one they
are no longer divided ( 1 Corbin 16:17) the same spirit, partaker of the divine nature, same life.
A witness is that there is an independent reality that is being attested to as the truth, Luke 4:1,
Luke 2:25… The Holy Spirit was upon himx so we see that yheee is a leading to a place as well
as to a responsibility. The spirit endeavors to led even the unbeliever whilst preaching and even
after, as it’s says in the book of Genesis that the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the
waters. Acts 16:6 they were restricted to go here and there.
Specifics
1.) people, partnerships and relationships
2.) Places
3.) Provision/ natural work
4.) Grace for responsibilities
5.) Passion
