Quality inspectors for inspection activities R&D organization and technical institutions
General Summary
Section Head – Inspection & Testing QC1 shall lead the day-to-day activities of the Quality
Control Department (QC1) and ensure the effective deployment of quality inspection & testing
requirements to satisfy customers, relevant standards & other stakeholders. He shall ensure that
all necessary support is provided to QC1 team to carry out their job effectively & safely and shall
act on behalf of the QC1 Manager during his absence / whenever delegated.
Support QC1 Manager to formulate & deploy QC1 strategy for improving the product quality,
eliminate non-conformances and minimize customer complaints to ensure the department
objectives’ achievements.
Provide the technical support to operation, SCM, Projects & other departments whenever
required.
- Provide the necessary supports to manager to set the department objectives based on the
yearly target competency & capability analysis
- Cascade department objectives into team and provide the required support to team to
achieve the department objectives.
- Forecast & prepare accurate annual budget and monitor department expenditures through
proper allocation and utilization.
- Analyze the annual financial requirements of department and budget compilation for
coming year.
3. Manage Resources
- Maintain all the inspection & test facilities, equipment & devices with valid calibration
status.
- Manage all adequate resources & infrastructure effectively for department to continue the
job in full function effectively & adequately
- Improve the time efficiency for QC inspection, mechanical testing, report preparation
activities with suitable IT infrastructure & in-house transportation facilities.
- Bring to the attention of the QC1 Manger any deviations that affect quality of tests
- Conducts effective performance evaluations for QC1 personnel competency.
- Provide technical support to relent stakeholders based on the necessity & requirements
- Plan daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance required for the machines in the
laboratories to ensure the validity & availability all the year
- Control equipment utilization and recommends improvements through planned
inspections.
- Establish and deploy preventative maintenance programs and procedures using database
tools by establishing a proactive approach to equipment repairs.
- Motivate the team and identify the training needs of team members and arrange the
required trainings in coordination with relevant departments & agencies
- Organize the department quality study/seminar to share the knowledge of new standard,
technologies related quality activities.
- Responsible for providing laboratory personnel support services to facilitate full
understanding and address issues of laboratory quality management.
5. EHS Compliance
- Ensure full compliance to the company’s safety, health & environmental requirements at
the workplaces to avoid undrable occurrence, injuries, damage to equipment /
environment
- Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, area
processes, and waste reduction opportunities.
- Promote the professional workplace management by implementing 5S in all DRP & SMP
Lab Area.
- Have the responsibility for ensuring that the Standard requirements for the inspection and
testing of the product/material have been identified, obtained, reviewed, understood
before the approval of rolling program for the particular order.
- Ensure compliance to international standard and customer requirements. for the
manufacturing, inspection and testing.
- Provide technical assistance to sales, marketing and supply chain management
- Make sure the traceability of all raw materials, semi-finished products, final products and
non-confirming products are adequately identified, controlled and maintained adequately
- lead the investigation and Provide testing analysis based on the type of defective
samples /failure analysis of samples provided from the customer (internal & external)
- Demonstrates technical creativity by dgning, documenting, and communicating
recommendations for process equipment improvements.
- Analyze Quality performance data and initiate corrective/preventive actions
- Establish liaison with independent laboratories and inspection agencies
- Support the QC staffs to facilitate required inspection & testing and to submit required
information, test reports and other documents to external auditors / bodies as and when
required
- Support to QC staffs to provide reliable tests samples for inhouse witness & third-party
tests as required to comply with respective standards requirements
- Make sure the successful deployment and coordination of Laboratory Management System
to satisfy ISO 17025 requirements and the national and international standards, legislation
& other requirements, including EIAC.
- Ensure all equipment calibration and maintenance program are controlled by the qualified
& authorized personnel.
- Ensure adherence of all systems integrated within IMS including ISO 17025 as per relevant
Manuals, Procedures, and other documents.
- Liaises with other department to coordinate the activities related to product quality
investigation, trials and developments of new grades.
- Provide testing for defective investigation/failure analysis of samples provided from other
department
- Demonstrates technical creativity by dgning, documenting, and communicating
recommendations for process equipment improvements
- Reports to the QC1 Manager for NQA and QS Program related matters and assist the QC1
Manager in implementing, maintaining the QS Program to ensure compliance with the
applicable Standards, ASME Code and Customer requirements and for indoctrinating and
training of personnel.
- Shall review and evaluate the conformance to the acceptance criteria and indicate
acceptance by signing and dating the report; and prepare the Certified Material Test
Reports
- Shall be responsible for all activities that are required to ensure that QS program is
functioning & maintained well & adequate in compliance to all relevant requirements
