1 General information
1.1 HW compatibility
IMPORTANT: The new HW version 2.0 has been introduced because the microcontroller used in
the HW version 1.0 had become obsolete. The firmware for HW version 2.0 isn't compatible with
the HW version 1.0 and vice versa. It isn't permitted to update the HW version 1.0 using FW
version 2.0.0 and higher. For proper cooperation with the new HW version 2.0 it is necessary to
use the new version 2.x of NanoEdit configuration tool.

1.2 Version information

Minor version with bugfixing.

Support of up to 64 ECU values
Support of ECU checksums

IN-NT-PLUS-2.4.1 - New Features 4

4 Changes in the version 2.3.0
4.1 New features
Overcurrent protection

Generator Overcurrent Shutdown

Setpoint group Generator protections Related FW 2.3.0
Range [units] 70–130 [%]
Default value 110 % Related applications PLUS
Step 0,1 %
Description
This setpoint defines the shutdown value of generator overcurrent protection.

Generator Overcurrent Delay

Setpoint group Generator protections Related FW 2.3.0
Range [units] 0–300 [s]
Default value 5s Related applications PLUS
Step 1s
Description
This setpoint defines the delay for generator overcurrent protection.

Idle speed support

Engine is switched to Idle speed during Starting sequence when Starting RPM are reached. Controller
stays in Idle State according to Idle Time setpoint. Engine can be also switched to Idle speed when
Cooling State is initiated and Cooling Speed setpoint is set to Idle.
Idle speed switchover is performed using logical binary output IDLE/NOMINAL or by sending ECU
requests when ECU is configured.

Idle Time (E17)

Engine parameters and
Setpoint group Related FW 2.3.0
protections
Range [units] 1–3600 [s]
Default value 10 s Related applications PLUS
Step 1s
Description
Adjusts duration of the Idle period, which begins at the moment when the engine reaches Starting RPM
(i.e. Starter is disengaged). The output IDLE/NOMINAL stays open to keep the engine at Idle speed (if the
governor supports idling) during Idle period.
Note: When engine speed drops below 2 RPM during Idle period Start Fail shutdown is issued.

IN-NT-PLUS-2.4.1 - New Features 5

Cooling Speed (E18)
Engine parameters and
Setpoint group Related FW 2.3.0
protections
Range [units] Idle / Nominal [-]
Default value Nominal Related applications PLUS
Step [-]
Description
Selects whether the Cooling phase is performed at Idle or Nominal speed, i.e. whether the output
IDLE/NOMINAL is open or closed during the Cooling phase.

Nominal Cooling is performed at Nominal speed and generator protections are active.
Idle Cooling is performed at Idle speed and generator protections are not active.

Note: When ECU is connected the predefined value 900 RPM for Idle speed is requested.

Note: Binary output IDLE/NOMINAL must be configured and connected to engine speed governor.
Engine Idle speed must be adjusted on speed governor.

Idle/Nominal (O18)
Description
This output is used for switching between Idle and Nominal speed of the engine during the Startup and
Cooling phase, if this feature (input) is available on the particular engine. The output is opened when the
engine is required to run at Idle speed and it is closed when the engine is required to run at Nominal
speed.
In the case of some EFI engines, the idle/nominal switching is performed over the communication bus.

Note: Some speed governors do not support speed reference switching.

IN-NT-PLUS-2.4.1 - New Features 6

5 Changes in the version 2.2.1
5.1 Repairs
Glow Plugs
LBO GLOW PLUGS now works according to the description in Reference Guide.
There were consequences which can cause endless activation of LBO GLOW PLUGS

IN-NT-PLUS-2.4.1 - New Features 7

6 Changes in the version 2.2.0
6.1 New Features
New setpoint CT Connected (B12) has been added to the group Basic settings.

Cranking Attempts
Setpoint group Basic settings Related FW 2.2.0
Range [units] Yes / No [-]
Default value Yes Related applications PLUS
Step -
Description
Use this setpoint to suppress showing any current related information on controller screens when no CT is
used.
When CT Connected setpoint is set to No value, following steps are taken:
CT symbol is not shown on main screen.
Value of apparent power is not shown on main screen.
Values of current and apparent power are not shown on generator screen.
Nominal Current (B09) setpoint is hidden.
CT Ratio (B10) setpoint is hidden.
Generator Short Circuit Shutdown (G05) setpoint is hidden.
Generator Short Circuit Delay (G06) setpoint is hidden.

Note: No changes to the protections subsystem are introduced. So, it is strongly recommended to not
connect CT when CT Connected setpoint is set to No to prevent unexpected controller behavior.
