Service Tool

Product description
The Service Tool is like a miniature computer terminal
(keyboard and display unit). The Service Tool allows
the user to communicate with the Miprom 21 in order
to aid in system diagnostics.

The Service Tool is easy to operate due to the on

screen prompts that appear. The user simply selects
the proper function key (‘F’ key) located next to the
item to be selected. Some functions may also require
the use of the YES, NO, and/or Numerical keys. The
ENTER key is sometimes needed to complete the
entry of data into the Miprom 21 through the Service
Tool.
R610-002 (3/96)

Maintaining your Service Tool

The Service Tool uses a Liquid Crystal Display. This type of display is very delicate and must
be treated as such. The tool must never be subjected to sharp blows, and must never be
allowed to freeze.

The Service Tool contains an internal battery pack which must be recharged periodically. To
recharge, plug one end of the recharger into the Service Tool jack and the other end into a 120
VAC wall outlet.

➤ The Service Tool screen displays a low battery warning message when battery
charge is low.
➤ A full charge of about 16 hours is required for a completely discharged battery.
