WHAT IS IT?
SIMILE
● A figure of speech in which two unlike things are
compared using the word like or as.
Examples:
● My daughter dances like an angel.
● My brother is as mad as a hatter.
METAPHOR
● A suggested examination made between two dissimilar to
things that really have something in normal. Among the
most widely recognized analogies are those that allude to
our feelings of touch, taste, sight, hearing and smell.
Examples:
● The exam was a piece of cake.
● He is a lion when he comes to the field.
● Phoebe is a nightingale.
PERSONIFICATION
● An interesting expression in which a lifeless thing or
deliberation is enriched with human characteristics or
capacities.
Examples:
● The curtains danced in the breeze.
● Time flies when you are having fun.
● The sun kissed me while I was clicking a picture.
