box, the pupils will grab the box, the first to get
the box will be spared from answering a
question. The one who was not able to get it
draw a strip of paper and will answer a
question.
Questions written in strips of paper:
1. What kind are the 3 types of lines?
2. What kind of lines do not meet or
intersect?
3. What angle measures exactly 90
degrees?
4. What triangle has 3 equal sides?
What do we call a polygon that has 3 sides and
3 corners?

purpose of the lesson you to put them on the direction that I will tell
you.

Unlocking of Difficulties:
Direction Name the following pictures.

Let’s look at the picture located in the north.

The boy’s name is Concon. He is a grade 4
pupil. One time her mother ordered a mystery
box in shoppee. After 3 days a delivery man
knocked on their door while he is eating and he
was expecting for a delivery, Concon’s mother
left 500 pesos to Concon for the mystery box.
He received the parcel with a price of 350
pesos. If Concon handed 500 pesos. The
delivery rider handed his changed and Concon
opened the box with excitement.

Inside Concon’s box are kite, eraser, bag,

picture frame and a towel.

Now, let us have a game called shape finder.

Match the objects found inside Concon’s box

into their corresponding shapes in column B.

Column A Column B

D. Discussing new Now, look at the remaining figures. How many

concepts and practicing sides do they have?
new skills #1 These figures are called Quadrilaterals.

Quadrilateral means four sides. Now, using

these four sides we can form a quadrilateral

called square.

A square is a quadrilateral with 4 equal sides

and 4 right angles or 90 degrees angle.

With these four sides we can again form

another quadrilateral called rectangle.

A rectangle is a quadrilateral with 2 pairs of

opposite equal sides and 2 pairs of parallel
sides.

With these 4 sides we can also form a rhombus

like the shape of a kite.

A rhombus is also a quadrilateral with 4 equal

sides, opposite sides are parallel and opposite
angles are equal.
We can also form a quadrilateral called
parallelogram.

Its opposite sides are equal and parallel. Its

opposite angles are also equal.
Then, the last one is a trapezoid.

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with 1 pair of

parallel sides.

3. Stay with your group

Pupils will be divided into two and they

will form a circle. Each group will be given
show me boards. Music will be played as
they pass the board to their groupmates then
when it stops, they also need to stop passing
the board and then who gets the board will
be asked a question and will write it in the
show me board.

Questions:

1. A quadrilateral with 4 equal sides and 4

right angles
2. It is a quadrilateral with two pairs of
opposite equal sides and all angles are
90 degrees.
3. What quadrilateral has only one pair of
parallel side?
4. All sides are equal and opposite angles
are equal.
5. It has 2 pairs of parallel sides, and its
opposite angles are equal.
6. What does the word “Quad” mean?
7. What does the word “Lateral” means?

your bond paper. (This will be done in pair;
pupils are free to choose their partner)
