Orientation for Talent Search

Presentation
Introduction

Conclusion
1. Pick a chit from the bowl, open & show it to the person in
charge.
2.Take and hold the Bible with reverence & respect.
3.Take the chit and the Bible and proceed to the designated
reading area/ podium.
4.Calmly open the scripture portion within 1 minute or
sooner.

1. Do not refer the contents/ index written at the
beginning of Bible with page nos. in it.
2. Do not panic & flip through the pages, make sure
that you are turning the pages in the right direction
eg. If OT Book, towards your left, if NT vice versa…
1. Read out the portion to the audience clearly and loudly
Eg: If the scripture portion is ‘1 Corinthians 13: 11-13' introduce it as
“The Scripture portion is taken from the First epistle of Paul the
Apostle to the Corinthians chapter thirteen verses eleven to thirteen.

2. Then Open the Bible & take the portion and once again repeat the
Bible portion like this: ‘First Corinthians chapter 13 verses eleven to
thirteen’
• The Bible portion has to opened within 1 minute.

• Make sure you open and read the correct portion as


shown in the chit you get.
• Read the portion clearly and audibly
• Pay attention to the Pronunciation especially of
the Books. (Obadiah, Job, Jeremiah, Amos,
Nehemiah…)
• Pause at the punctuations and at the full stop.
• Maintain eye contact with the audience
• At the end of the reading you conclude by saying: ‘Here ends the
lesson’ OR for Old/New Testament Books- ‘This is the Word of the
Lord’ OR Gospel Books- ‘This is the Word of the Lord Jesus’
• Close the Bible from front to back – (Always place the Bible with the
cover facing you).
• Return the chit to the person in charge & back to your seat.
