3yr-Lesson Plan Math (Semi)

The document outlines a lesson plan for a Grade 1 Mathematics class at Bunga Elementary School, focusing on understanding and identifying repeating patterns. The lesson aims for 85% of learners to grasp the concept of next terms in patterns through various activities and examples. It includes objectives, content, learning resources, procedures, and reflection points for the teacher to evaluate the effectiveness of the lesson.

and Time

I. OBJECTIVES

1. Content Standards

Demonstrates understanding of the next term/s in a repeating pattern and

mathematical sentences.

2. Performance Standards

Able to apply knowledge and extend existing repeating patterns and create new

repeating patterns. (NA)

3. Learning Competencies/ Objectives

At the end of the lesson 85% of the learners are expected to;

A. Understand and identify the next term/s in a repeating pattern;

B. Illustrate the next term/s in a repeating pattern; and

C. Reflect the importance of understanding the next term/s in a

repeating pattern. (M 1AL-IIIg2)

II. CONTENT: Determines the next term/s in a repeating pattern (patterns could use

rhythmic properties, visual elements in the arts, …) (e.g., numbers: 2, 4, 2, 4__, __;

letters: a, b, c, a, b, c, a, __, __,)

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous Let’s answer this Problem.

lesson or presenting the Charise Volunteered to clean the living room. Her mother

new lesson asked her to continue arranging the picture frames

displayed on the wall following a specific pattern. What

will be the shape of the next picture frame?

?
“Look at the pattern. What do you think the next shape in

the pattern?”

Now let’s take look at the numbers on each heart. Find

the pattern on each row and identify the missing

numbers.

In the following pattern what would be the next

numbers? We should identify the numbers that are

missing and the next term/s in a patter.

B. Establishing a Purpose Let the learners look under their chairs. Let

for the Lesson them find the pictures that the teacher pastes

under.
Let the learners stand in front of the class to

show the pictures that they’ve found. The

teacher will stand on the end of the line. Let the

learners identify the picture that the teacher

should be holding (missing term).

‘’So, from the pattern of the pictures that you found

what do you think the picture that I should be

holding?’’

C. Presenting Examples/ In identifying the next term/s in a given pattern

Instances of the Lesson or sequence, look how the figures or shapes are

arranged and identify the order of the repeated

figures.

 Look how the figures or shapes are arranged

and identify which shapes repeat over and

over.

 Identify the order of the repeated figures.

 Determine if the numbers are arranged

increasing or decreasing order.

 Explore the relationship between the

numbers by finding the difference between

numbers are next to each other.

 Use the difference between numbers to find

the missing number.

pattern.

A.
B.

E. Developing Mastery Look at each pattern below and paste on the box

the figure that completes the pattern.

F. Making generalizations The teacher will ask the following questions.

and abstractions about How can you identify the next term/s in a given
the lesson pattern of shapes, figures or numbers?

How can you find the next number/s in the given

pattern?

What is the importance of understanding the

next term/s in a pattern in our daily living?

G. Evaluating of Learning A. Determine the missing term of the pattern in

Column A. Encircle your answer in column B.

The pupils will answer the following activity and

check right after.

H. Additional Activities for

Application or

Remediation (in case Make 5 sets of patterns of your own. Use

assessment result is shapes, objects, numbers, or colors.

not satisfactory)

V. ASSIGNMENT
Directions: Create 2 simple real-life scenario that involves recognizing a pattern
and share it with their classmates, explaining the pattern and the missing term. You
may ask for help and guidance with your parents. Write it on your assignment
notebook.

This is to be done after the lesson

REMARKS:

REFLECTION:

A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation.

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation who scored below 80%.

C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught up with the lesson.

D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation.

E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor can help me solve?

G. What innovation or localized materials did I use./discover which I wish to share with other

teachers?
