Expectations
1. Supplies: It is your responsibility to bring all necessary supplies to class every day. You will
need a binder, loose leaf, pens, pencils, and scientific calculator. Cell phones are not a
substitute for a scientific calculator. It is not an option to “forget” your stuff. You will not be
able allowed to go to your locker during class.

2. Binder: You will be required to bring your binder to class along with notes that I will provide
you. Make sure your notes are open to the page that we are currently working on before
class begins.

3. Homework and Assignments: Any homework and assignment will be written on the board,
in your notes and on the class website for reference. You are responsible to complete the
work. It is not optional. Homework should be done in pencil only!

4. Tests: If you are absent on the day of an exam AND your parents notify the office that day,
then you will write the day you return to school at noon. It is your job to be prepared to do
this. There are no rewrites. If you talk during an exam, it will be assumed you are cheating
and you will receive a zero. Also, there is no talking while others are completing the exam,
even if you are done!

5. Extra Help: Riverview offers an Opportunity to Learn (OTL) which will be in my room every
lunch on Wednesday. If this does not work for you, then you are responsible to arrange
another time with me. It is recommended that you do not wait until the day of a quiz or a
test to come in for extra help, as it may be too late.

There is a deadline every two weeks to complete assignments/tests and your name will be
on the OTL list if you do not hand an assignment in on time. This will be posted on the
board so keep an eye out for that. If you still haven’t handed in your assignments/tests, you
will accept the grade of “ASA” on HomeLogic (a zero). Accepting ASAs on your assignments
will greatly affect your grade and will make it difficult to pass the course, so make sure to
hand everything in! To earn a +1 day extension, you must show up to OTL for at least 30
minutes and work on materials from MY class.

If you require any special considerations to accommodate your learning needs, please feel
free to approach me privately. This includes if you need an extension. Come see me before
your due date. If you do not come talk to me, I will assume you are ready to complete the
assignments/tests. I am also in my room almost every day before and after school and as
well as lunch. Please, if you are not “getting it”, or you are frustrated, ask for help!

Ms. McMurchy
6. Attendance/Lates: It is essential for students to be in class, on time, to maximize their
learning. If you miss any information/handouts, get notes from either me or another
student and the handouts will be in the binder at the front of the room.

7. Fire Drills and Lock Down

During a fire drill and lock down, it is expected that you remain calm and we all stick
together. You may not use your cell phone in any case! If you are caught with it, it will be
confiscated.
- In the case of a fire, we will exit together and meet outside. I will take attendance
outside.
- In the case of lock down, we will shut all doors, turn off lights, and move to a corner of
the classroom.

8. Classroom Rules and Regulations: This classroom will follow the Riverview Collegiate rules
and regulations.
* EVERYONE in the classroom must be courteous and respectful at all times.
* No food or beverages during class.
*Clean-up after yourself.
* Do what you need to do before coming to class.
* Follow the dress code.
* NO CELL PHONES in the classroom.
* You will not be allowed to go to the bathroom during class.

** I will happily treat you like young adults, as long as that is how you behave.
