Postdoctoral position in plant molecular biology

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Robert W Holley

Center for Agriculture and Health at Cornell University.

The postdoctoral researcher will carry out a USDA-NIFA funded project to

investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying carotenoid accumulation and
plastid development in plants. Some previous work related to the project can be
found in our publications (Mol Plant 13:864 2020; Plant Physiol 180:1988 2019;
Mol Plant 11:149 2018; Plant Physiol 173:376 2017; PNAS 112:3558 2015). The
research will employ interdisciplinary approaches including plant molecular
biology, biochemistry, and genetics to identify regulators and elucidate
mechanisms involved in these processes. Additional new projects in the areas of
regulatory control of plant metabolism can be developed in either model or crop
species. The start date for the position is negotiable. The initial appointment is one
year but renewable for additional years, contingent upon satisfactory performance.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with background and experience.

Qualifications: A recent PhD in plant molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics,

or a related field. The successful candidate should have a good publication record
and strong skills in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. The person
should be independent and highly self-motivated.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. To apply or receive

additional information, please e-mail [email protected]. Interested applicants
should send a CV, a cover letter describing your research interests and career
goals, and the names of three references by email to Dr. Li Li, Robert Holley
Center for Agriculture and Health, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853. For more
information on our research, please see http://plbrgen.cals.cornell.edu/people/li-li
