DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION 8

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of fitness and exercise in optimizing
one’s health as a habit; as requisite for physical activity assessment
performance, and as a career opportunity.

B. Performance Standard
The learn leads fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
independent pursuit and in influencing others positively.
C. Most Essential Competency
Health-related components fitness, barriers to physical activity assessment
participation and one’s diet. (PEH12FH-Ig-i-6)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
a. explain the health-related components of fitness and its corresponding
outcomes
b. assimilate the importance of health-related components of fitness;
c. demonstrate and perform health-related components OF fitness

The five health-related components


of physical fitness can be a useful
guide to help you achieve physical
fitness and promote good health.
They describe five areas to focus on
in your fitness journey to ensure a
well-rounded, active lifestyle.

The five areas of health-related


fitness are:

 Cardiovascular endurance:
the ability to perform
exercises at moderate-to-
vigorous intensities for a
prolonged period of time.

 Muscular strength: how


much force your muscles can
exert or how heavy weights
they can lift.

 Muscular endurance: the


ability of your muscles to
sustain exercise for a period
of time.

 Flexibility: the ability to


move muscles and joints
through a full range of motion.

 Body composition: your


body’s ratio of fat mass to fat-
free mass like muscle and
bone.

D. ELABORATE

“Spin the Wheel”

Now we will be having another


activity. I have a ball here, and
