Society of Jesus is a Roman Catholic
order of priests and brothers founded
in 1540 by Ignatius of Loyola. In the
vision of our founder, we seek to “find
God in all things. ” We dedicate
ourselves to the “Greater Glory of
God” and the good of all humanity.
And we do so gratefully in
St. Ignatius of Loyola collaboration with all who share our
Founder of Jesuits values. Since its origin, the Society of
Jesus has been active in the field of
education throughout the world.

UNIFORM & DRESS CODE
It is recommended that students come to College in simple and
unostentatious dress suitable for an academic environment. The
following specific guidelines are to be observed: Any kind of captions or
writing on shirts/T- shirts/Tops etc. are prohibited, Sleeveless dresses
are prohibited and only full length trousers are allowed and wearing
caps inside the College buildings is prohibited. For boys, ear-rings, or
ear/chin/nose/lip/eye-brow studs, head bands and wrist bands are
strictly prohibited.
For all the undergraduate students the following

SINGLE MAJOR AND SINGLE MINOR
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
A student shall be allowed to take admission in the Single Major and
Single Minor course of B.A. /B.Sc. /B.Com. if he/ she has passed in at
least four (04) subjects with English as compulsory subject in the
Higher Secondary [10+2] Examinations held by the West Bengal
Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other Examinations
which is recognized by the University as equivalent thereto.
Provided that a candidate who has obtained- (a) 55% marks in the
aggregate, or (b) 50% in the aggregate with 60% marks in a subject /
related subject in the last qualifying Examination shall be eligible to
apply for Single Major and Single Minor course in that subject.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Session Gap: For admission to the Undergraduate Program there should not be
a gap of more than 3 years between the year of Higher Secondary
Examinations and the year of admission to Undergraduate Program of study.
MERIT CALCULATION
For a Single Major and Single Minor course (4 year UG), where a student has
studied the subject at +2 level = (Marks obtained in Major/ related subject +
Marks obtained in English + Best marks obtained in other two subjects) / 4.
For a Single Major and Single Minor course (4 year UG), where a student has
not studied the subject at +2 level = (Marks obtained in English + Best marks
obtained in other three subjects) / 4.
