ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and creative Embedded Software Engineer to join our robotics team in developing
real-time control software for a bio-inspired robotic fish. The ideal candidate will have experience working
with servo motors, microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32), and motion control algorithms, and is
passionate about underwater robotics and agile design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement software for controlling multi-joint servo-actuated fin and tail movements.
• Integrate motion profiles based on biologically inspired swimming patterns (e.g., undulation, tail
whip).
• Develop closed-loop feedback control using IMUs, magnetometers, or pressure sensors.
• Optimize timing, torque, and PWM signal handling for smooth and realistic motion.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to align control architecture with hardware
constraints.
• Contribute to underwater testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or related field.


• Proficient in C/C++ or Python for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with servo motors (PWM control, calibration, torque management).
• Familiarity with PID control, gait generation, and sensor fusion techniques.
• Experience with microcontroller development environments (Arduino, STM32Cube, PlatformIO,
etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or real-time OS.
