From Gold Medals to Silver Linings: The Arnis Journey of Arliko Louvelle

Arliko Louvelle Yham Q. San Velentin, born on January 4, 2015, to Alice May L.
Quintos and Arjay Paul SM San Valentine, is a young dynamo who navigates the
waters of both athletic achievement and academic success with remarkable ease. Since
her entry into the world of Arnis in November 2023, during a competition in Los Baños,
Laguna, Arliko has established herself as a formidable practitioner, winning four gold
medals in a variety of events, including Individual Single Weapon, Synchronized Single
Weapon, Synchronized Double Weapon, and Synchronized Sword & Dagger Weapon.

Her winning streak continued in February 2024 at the Unit Meet in Bay, Laguna,
where she again swept four gold medals in the same events, showcasing her
consistency and skill. Later that month, Arliko made her debut at the Division Meet in
Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Here, she earned a gold medal in Individual Single Weapon and
three bronze medals in Synchronized Single Weapon, Synchronized Double Weapon,
and Synchronized Sword & Dagger Weapon, further solidifying her reputation as a
rising star in the sport.

Arliko's success did not stop there. In June 2024, she shone brightly at the
Sports Clinic organized by Governor Ramil Hernandez, where she clinched two more
gold medals in Padded Point and Single Live Stick. However, it was her performance at
the prestigious 17th WEKAF Championship in Mandaue, Cebu City, that truly
showcased her talents on a grand stage. Competing as a Grade 3 student from Maahas
Elementary School, Arliko faced challengers from 17 different countries, underscoring
the international scope of her achievement.

The high-stakes nature of this competition tested her skills and resilience.
Demonstrating quick adaptability, Arliko faced off against her opponent, John, with
remarkable agility. When the opportunity arose, she skillfully dodged one of his strikes
and swiftly countered, striking her opponent's gear with precision. This masterful
execution led her to win a silver medal in Knife Point and a bronze in Padded Point,
marking a significant accomplishment in her young career.
Beyond her athletic endeavors, Arliko also participated in the 2024 Read-a-thon:
Festival of Talents, highlighting her commitment to academic excellence. Her active
engagement in various activities showcases her ability to excel in multiple areas,
