ASSIGNMENT 1
1.What does the term professional practice mean to you as an
interior design student?
As an interior design student, professional practice means
learning how to work like a real interior designer in the world outside of school. It includes understanding how to deal with clients, manage projects, handle money and time, follow rules and safety codes, and work with other people like architects and contractors. It’s about being responsible, respectful, and doing your job well, just like a professional.
2. Why do you think it’s important to learn about client
handling, budgets, timelines, and legal responsibilities in design?
It’s important to learn about client handling, budgets, timelines,
and legal responsibilities because these are all big parts of being a successful interior designer.
Client handling helps you understand what the client wants
and how to keep them happy. Budgets help you manage money so the project doesn’t cost too much. Timelines help you finish the work on time. Legal responsibilities keep you safe from problems by following the rules and laws.
3. After today’s class, what new understanding did you gain
about the interior design
profession and its history?
After today’s class, I gained a better understanding of how
important client handling is in the interior design profession. I learned that listening to the client, understanding their needs, and communicating clearly are key parts of a successful project. I also realized that the history of interior design shows how the role of designers has grown—not just to decorate, but to work closely with clients and create spaces that fit their lifestyle and needs.
