IIM Bangalore Interview Transcript

(3 Panelists- 1 Male (P1), 2 Female (P2 and P3))

P1- Introduce yourself

Me- Gave my prepared introduction.
P2- You’re from Indore. Tell me something special about Indore
Me- Mentioned how Indore has ranked as the cleanest city in India for the past 8 years.
P2- What is the model of cleanliness followed in Indore and why has it not gotten implemented
in other metro cities?
Me- Talked about the waste segregation done at source, Indore being the first water plus city,
having the biggest bio-cng plant in Asia. Mentioned that the municipality maintained very strict
measures to ensure implementation, how daily waste collectors refuse to collect waste if not
segregated. Such strict implementation and support and involvement of the people of indore has
contributed to the success of the mission and other metro cities lack that strictness.
P2- Ok. (I have experience in a research project on Ecological Feminism) Tell me about the
research project that you participated in.
Me- Explained the concept of Ecological Feminism, how it originated and its importance and
implications. Then went on to explain which facets of the concept my research project focused
on and the methods we used.
P2- Trying to understand the topic better, had a light discussion on it with me also relating it to
the Chipko Movement.
P1- (I have contributed as an author to a book) What is this book you have worked on?
Me- Explained the premise of the book and my contribution to it.
P1- Do you have the book with you right now? I want to see it.
Me- Apologised and told him that I had not brought the book with me but would surely be
pleased to share it with him if I get to come to IIMB.
(Also he asked if the book was for sale, I told him yes, it was available on amazon and he
opened the site right then and asked some questions for clarification on how the book was
published)
P1- How comfortable are you with maths?
Me- Was honest and told him how it wasn’t my strongest suit but that I was not afraid of a
challenge.
P1- That’s a good mindset but it doesn’t tell me if you’re capable of actually coping with the
maths taught in mba? How would you prove your ability to me? Asked me a maths problem on
profit and loss.
Me- Asked if I could use the notepad but he refused and so I solved it mentally and gave him
the answer.
P1- Had a little discussion on whether Indore is a smart city, and what are the parameters for it
being a smart city.
P3- Tell me about the positions of responsibilities you had in college. What were some
challenges you faced and how did you resolve them?
Me- Talked about my experience.
P3- A little cross questioning on what approach I used to resolve conflict and such.
P3- As a psychologist how do you feel about the recent Trump and Zelensky incident?
Me- Answered however much I knew about it.
P3- Tell me some recent national news you know.
Me- Talked about the ethnic unrest in Manipur and influx of refugees from Myanmar.
(This launched a little discussion about how to ensure identity of citizens and how practical and
useful is aadhar card in doing so).
The interview ended after this discussion.

this mean?
