Gender Equality Awareness Action Plan: Closing the Gender Gap

Is an awareness campaign can be built around raising awareness about the


societal impact of gender stereotypes and promoting equal opportunities
and treatment

Purpose of Action Plan

The purpose of the gender equality movement is to create a world where


respect, resources and opportunities are unaffected by gender.

Goals and Objectives

1. To eliminate gender hierarchy and its associated marginalization where


men hold gender based privilege; feminism works toward elevating
women to a level field.
2. To encourage youth to lead initiatives that to promote gender equality
and non-violence.
3. To teach boys about respect and equality from a young age
4. To encourage masculinity and challenging stereotypes
5. To create a positive and safe community

Action Steps

To truly build a just society, we must ensure that both boys and girls are
given equal attention, support, and opportunities to thrive.

Increase Knowledge

a. Conduct workshops and lessons that will allow people to learn about
gender stereotypes.
b. Run campaigns on social media that talk about and share experiences
of individuals who have been discriminated against based on their
gender.

Equal Opportunity Promotion

a. Advocate for discrimination-free policies that enable women to receive


the same employment training and education in order to assist them
better.
b. Encourage policies that promote equal pay for equal work.

Encourage Change

a. Support the creation of inclusive practices and policies.


b. Foster the active portrayal of women and minorities in leadership roles
as well as the media.
Support Survivors

a. Fight for policies that protect and assist survivors of gender-based


violence.
b. Aid in the creation of resources and services for victims of gender
violence.

Involve Boys and Men

a. Create conversations with boys and men about feminism and gender
equality.
b. Persuade them to actively step up and help women.

Evaluate Change

a. Measure the change in policies and mark new policies for gender
equality.
b. Use statistics to inform decisions that need to be proposed with the
help of data.
