The fashion industry needs to change. At the moment, our communities and our environment 1
by our love of fast fashion.
Most fast fashion products 2 in wealthy countries, but they are hardly ever made there.

Manufacturing more and more clothes is causing huge environmental damage. In 2020, around ten per cent of global
carbon emissions 6 by the fashion industry. If nothing is done to control the problem, fifty
per cent more emissions 7 in 2030. Low prices also encourage consumers to waste clothing.
Researchers estimate that, of 100 billion items produced in 2019, sixty per cent 8 by the end
of the year.
