‘This is for you and your friend,’ said the boy and gave Ellie and Emma two apples.
‘Thanks, that’s very nice of you,’ said Ellie.

What will life be in 2116? Experts think people will live, work and play in a very different
way than we do today. Here are some of the experts’ predictions about the future.
There’ll be many tall buildings and underwater cities. People will work at home and have
online meetings. Home computer systems will tell everybody about their health problems.
People will take holidays in space. No one knows if people will need to study English in the
future.

FINAL TEST
1. Listen and tick the correct sentences.
Did you know that you can have an expensive dinner on the London Underground? Two
friends found an old Underground train used in films and decided to turn it into a restaurant.
They called it the ‘Underground Supper Club’. The train does not move – it is only a place to
eat.
The restaurant menu changes every month. It offers lots of delicious dishes with meat and
some interesting vegetarian dishes. You can visit it from 7:00 to 10:30 pm every day. And
mind the gap!
