Ans: Cultural diffusion is when elements of culture, including language, clothing or food, spread

the customs, attitudes, and norms of the larger and dominant culture, often losing aspects of their
original culture in the process.

2. Discuss the attitudes and world views that culture can develop? (10 marks)

Ans: Many cultures have traditional values that encourage certain attitudes, such as respect for elders. In
Muslim cultures, people can show this in a number of ways. For example, a younger person should
always stand when an older person enters the room. Cultures develop their own systems of values, ideas
and beliefs which reflects the group’s world view, the way the group understands the world. In the past,
the world view of a person or group was often fixed. Modern technology and travel today means that
people will encounter different world views.
