Ask a student to tell about any birds nest their might
have in their yards.
Find out what the students know about the materials
used and the purpose for the Nests.
Pass out the birds name or allow the student to
choose from the list of birds
Warm up activity
Before the students start their research, it would be
helpful to have a list of birds from which is the
students can choose . might want to list birds in your
region or if want a student to expose more exotic
nest and birds do search for words nest and provide
the names of those words for the students. This
preparation will also allow to see if I will need any
other materials for the students to build their Nests.

Learn learn about nesting habits of different Birds
Warm up activity
Make some cards depicting birds in their natural
surroundings. The teacher will show them one by one
to the students and asked them to name the bird.
This way, we will make the students identify different
birds and also state the birds are 'aerial animals' as
the fly in air.

How it will be introduced


Weaver bird uses plant fibres, grass ,spider wave and
feathers for making its nest. In case of Weaver bird it
is male who gives the nest the male bird weaves the
nest beautifully in different shapes the female bird
choose the next where she feesl most comfortable.
Penguin live in very cold places .It is difficult to find
weeks grass or straw in such places. Penguins,
therefore, collect some stones and pabbles to make
their nest.
Koyal Kukoo Singh sweetly. But this but does not
make its own nest. it lays it's eggs in the crows nest
the crow hatches them along with its own eggs.
Thetailor bird stitches the leaves with the help of its
beak using a small twigs as thread to make its nest.
