Worksheet of Submodule 2.

3: Scenario 1 & 2
Scenario 1

The mother of “Nokyoong,” a student in your Grade 8/2 homeroom,

called to request a morning appointment to discuss concerns about her
daughter. However, since you were scheduled to teach that morning, you
arranged to meet with her after school.
When the scheduled time arrived, the mother met with you and began to
speak, visibly distressed.
Mother: “Teacher, Nokyoong hasn’t come to school for several days
now. She has been isolating herself in her room, refusing to talk to
anyone in the family. When I try to ask her anything, she just cries and
won’t respond” (the mother’s voice trembles, and tears fill her eyes). “I
reached out to one of Nokyoong’s close friends and knew that there have
been some teasing messages shared about her. It turns out that
Nokyoong had been chatting with a guy, who had asked her to send
some suggestive photos. Those photos were then posted online, causing
her to feel deeply ashamed and embarrassed. She’s too afraid to face
anyone at school. I just don’t know how to help her” (the mother begins
to cry).
After listening to the mother’s account, you decided to schedule a home
visit to better understand the situation and to find an opportunity to
speak with Nokyoong directly.
Discussion Question: Based on the scenario above, please respond to
the following question:
1. Considering that the mother called to schedule a morning meeting
to discuss her daughter, Nokyoong, but you were only available
