CALCULATION FOR CURVE (DN ROAD)

(Increasing speed on LAR-DH0 Section from 110 kmph to 130 kmph)

CURVE NO. 74 (From Km.1219.00 to Km. 1220.040) = 1.040 Km

Existing Details: -

Degree = 0.75º, Radius ( R ) = 2333.33 m, CANT = 45 mm., T.L. = 90 m. (CSTM end) & 90 m (NDLS end)

As per PCE circular No. 124 Revised dtd.28.01.2011

C130 = GV² = 1750 x 130² = 99.80 mm (For Rajdhani & Shatabdi Exp.)
127R 127 x 2333.33

C110 = 1750 x 110² = 71.45 mm (For Mail/Exp. Trains)

127 x 2333.33
C100 = 1750 x 100² = 59.05 mm ( For Passenger Trains)
127 x 2333.33
C78.73 = 1750 x 78.73² = 36.59 mm ( For Weighted Avg. Speed)
127 x 2333.33

C60 = 1750 x 60² = 21.25 mm

127 x 2333.33
As per para 4.1 of PCE circular No. 124 Revised dtd.28.01.2011, Curve is more than 1 Km away from
extreme point & crossing of the section.
Cant Deficiency for the speed of 130 Kmph Cd130 = 99.80 – 36.59 = 63.21 mm say 63mm < 100 mm

Cant Deficiency for the speed of 110 Kmph Cd110 = 71.45 – 36.59 = 34.86 mm say 35mm < 75 mm

Therefore maximum cant deficiency can be provided = 63 mm

The Cant actual can be provided = 99.80 - 63 = 36.8 mm say 37 mm
Cexcess = 37 – 21.25 = 15.75 mm > 75mm

Maximum speed permitted on:-

Circular Curve V = 0.27 (Ca + Cd max.) x R Kmph

Vmax for Shatabdi / Rajdhani Train = 0.27 (37+63) x 2333.33 = 130.42 Kmph = 130 Kmph

Vmax for other Mail/Exp. Train = 0.27 (37+35) x 2333.33 = 110.66Kmph = 110 Kmph

Desired Length of Transition

Maximum in following:

a) 0.008 Ca x Vm = 0.008 x 37 x 130 = 38.48 m > 90 m

b) 0.008 Cd x Vm = 0.008 x 63 x 130 = 65.52 m > 90 m
c) 0.72 x Ca = 0.72 x 37 = 26.64 m > 90 m
Therefore desired TL=65.52 m
Existing TL=90m (It is more than the desired value of transition length)
Hence provide Ca=37mm, Cd=63mm, TL=90 M, Vmax=130 kmph For Rajdhani & Shatabdi

Existing Details: -

Degree = 1º, Radius ( R ) = 1750 m., CANT = 60 mm., T.L. = 115 m. (CSTM end) & 115 m (NDLS end)

As per PCE circular No. 124 Revised dtd.28.01.2011

C130 = GV² = 1750 x 130² = 133.07 mm (For Rajdhani & Shatabdi Exp.)
127R 127 x 1750
C110 = 1750 x 110² = 95.27 mm (For Mail/Exp. Trains)

C78.73= 1750 x 78.73² = 48.80 mm ( For Weighted Avg. Speed)
127 x 1750
C60 = 1750 x 60² = 28.34 mm
127 x 1750
As per para 4.1 of PCE circular No. 124 Revised dtd.28.01.2011, Curve is more than 1 Km away from
extreme point & crossing of the section
Cant Deficiency for the speed of 130 Kmph Cd130 = 133.07 – 48.80 = 84.27 mm say 84mm < 100 mm
Cant Deficiency for the speed of 110 Kmph Cd110 = 95.27 – 48.80 = 46.47 mm say 46mm < 75 mm
The maximum cant deficiency can be provided = 84 mm
The Cant actual = 133.07- 84 = 49.07 mm say 49 mm

Therefore Cexcess = 49 – 28.34 = 20.66 mm > 75mm

Maximum speed permitted on:-

Circular Curve V = 0.27 (Ca + Cd max.) x R Kmph

Vmax for Shatabdi / Rajdhani Train = 0.27 (49+84) x 1750 = 130.25 Kmph say 130 Kmph

Vmax for other Mail/Exp. Train = 0.27 (49+46) x 1750 = 110.08 Kmph > 110 Kmph

Desired Length of Transition

Maximum in following:

< 0.72 x Ca = 0.72 x 49 = 35.28 m > 115 m
Therefore desired TL=87.36 m
Existing TL=115m (It is more than the desired value of transition length)

CURVE NO. 84 From Km.1251.950 to Km. 1252.760 = 0.810 Km

Existing Details: -
Degree = 1º, Radius ( R ) = 1750 m., CANT = 60 mm., T.L. = 80 m. (CSTM end) & 70 m (NDLS end)

As per PCE circular No. 124(Revised) dtd. 28.01.2011

C130 = GV² = 1750 x 130² = 133.07 mm (For Rajdhani & Shatabdi Exp.)

127 x 1750
C78.73= 1750 x 78.73² = 48.80 mm ( For Weighted Avg. Speed)
127 x 1750
C60 = 1750 x 60² = 28.34 mm
127 x 1750
As per para 4.2(b) this curve falling within 1 km i.e. 0.378 Km from extreme point and crossing of the
section.
Therefore average speed likely to be attended by stopping train Va ={ 30 + d(Vt-30)} Kmph
Where d= distance of the curve in Km from extreme point & crossing = 0.378 Km
Vt = Maximum permanent speed of the stopping train or permanent speed restriction in the
vicinity of the curve whichever is less i.e. = 100 Kmph
Therefore Va ={30+0.378(100-30)} = 56.46 Kmph say 55 Kmph

C55 = GV² = 1750 x 55² = 23.82 mm

127R 127 x 1750
Therefore C55+ 75 = 23.82 +75 = 98.82 mm, which is more than C78.73 i.e. 48.80 mm
Cant Deficiency for the speed of 130 Kmph Cd130 = 133.07 – 48.80 = 84.27 mm say 84mm < 100 mm
Cant Deficiency for the speed of 110 Kmph Cd110 = 95.27 – 48.80 = 46.47 mm say 46mm < 75 mm

Vmax for Shatabdi / Rajdhani Train = 0.27 (49+84) x 1750 = 130.25 Kmph say 130 Kmph

Vmax for other Mail/Exp. Train = 0.27 (49+46) x 1750 = 110.08 Kmph =110 Kmph

Desired Length of Transition

Maximum in following:
< 0.008 Ca x Vm = 0.008 x 49 x 130 = 50.96 m > 70 m
< 0.008 Cd x Vm = 0.008 x 84 x 130 = 87.36 m > 70 m
< 0.72 x Ca = 0.72 x 49 = 35.28 m > 70 m
