There are many successful entrepreneurs in

the country and in the world. Some entrepreneurs

were selected from among these groups because

their field of business affects our lives and they are

great role models for the young girls and boys who

are interested in entrepreneurship.

Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook are digital

technology product companies you and almost

everybody patronize. Know the men behind them,

who started as intelligent, innovative, and

entrepreneurial boys.
1. Bill Gates, Microsoft Company

• Bill Gates, is the world’ s richest person.

• Founder of the Microsoft Company

• The famous entrepreneur has a net worth of $77

billion

• For 15 years, he is top on the entrepreneur list


• He loved to read.

• His favorite subjects were Math, Science, Drama and

English.

• At age 15, Bill and his best friend Paul Allen developed

computer programs with interested customers.

• Five years after, the company named Microsoft opened.

• Bill became a millionaire at age 23 and a billionaire at

age 31.
2. Steve Jobs, Apple Inc.
• Steve Paul Jobs was co- founder of Apple Inc. and Pixar

Animation Studios.

• Steve was 21 when they formed Apple Computer I

• The company was successful.

• In 1990’ s, Apple thrilled the digital users with a successive line

winners: iMac, MacBook, iPod, iPhones, and iTunes.


3. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook

• The youngest billionaire at the age of 29.

• He is one of the top 5 social media entrepreneurs.

• He had a net worth of $27 billion in 2013.


• Mark excelled in school.

• His favorite subjects were Classics and Science.

• He created his version of instant messaging for his family


use.

• Instead of playing computer games, he designed them for

his friends.

• In his sophomore year in college, he and his four fellow


students launched Facebook.

1. Socorro C. Ramos, National Book Store, Inc.
• Ms. Socorro C. Ramos started working as a salesgirl when she was

18 years old at Goodwill Bookstore in Escolta.

• When she was married to Jose Ramos, they put up the National

Book store.

• Her vision was to extend the National Book Store not only here in

Luzon but also to Visayas and Mindanao.

• More than 200 National Book Store branches can be found

nationwide.
2. Tony Tan Caktiong, Jollibee Foods Corporation

• Jollibee was formerly selling Magnolia Ice Cream,

and then it became famous for chicken and burger.

• Tony Tan Caktiong, the president and CEO of

Jollibee.

• Jollibee had been known to be a happy and

hardworking insect. It is the favorite place to dine in

of many Filipinos especially the children.


3. John Gokongwei Jr., JG Summit Holdings, Inc.
• John Gokongwei Jr. is the founder of a conglomerate.

• He sold peanuts and goods such as soaps, candles, and

threads in several markets.

• By age 16, he expanded and began trading goods between

Cebu and Manila.

• By age 20, he and his brother formed their first trading

company.

• He thought of ways to sell his products and services not only to

• Mariano Que first worked in a drugstore.

pushcart.

• After saving a lot of money, he was able to build Mercury Drug store.

• It is known for selling safe medicines and open 24/7.

• Mercury has over 1,000 stores nationwide.
