1. Purpose

To describe the procedure for opening an existing workspace or method using Syngistix software with the PerkinElmer

ICP-OES 7000DV.

2. Scope

Applicable to laboratory personnel using the ICP-OES 7000DV for routine sample analysis and method operation.

Analyst: Responsible for opening and verifying the correct method and workspace.

4. Procedure

4.1 Opening an Existing Workspace

1. Double-click on the Syngistix icon on the desktop.

2. Wait for the Syngistix main interface to load.

3. Click on the "Workspace" tab in the top menu bar.

4. Select "Open" from the dropdown menu.

5. In the dialog box, navigate to the folder containing the desired workspace file (.sws).

6. Select the correct workspace and click "Open".

4.2 Opening an Existing Method

1. Ensure the instrument is initialized and the correct workspace is open.

2. Go to the Method tab or Method Navigator panel.

3. Click on "Open Method".

4. Browse to the folder where the method file (.smt) is saved.

5. Select the appropriate method file and click "Open".

6. The method will load and parameters will populate in the interface.

5. Precautions

- Do not modify methods unless authorized.

- Save any changes under a new name to preserve the original method.

- Ensure compatibility of method with the workspace and instrument.
