The pathway of the Bladder Meridian


Teaching content 1. Starts from the inner side of the eye and goes across
the forehead to reach the top of the head.
 The pathway of the Bladder Meridian 2. The main channel divides into two branches.
3. One crosses the center of the base of the neck and
 The symptoms and main indications extends downwards parallel to the spine.
4. The other one crosses the back of the shoulder and
 The locations of BL 2, BL 10, BL 12, BL 13, BL 14, BL 15, BL 18, BL 19,
runs downward on the outside, and parallel to the
BL 20, BL 21, BL 23, BL 40, BL 57. inner branch.
5. These two branches run across the back of the thigh
and join at the back of the knee.
6. Then continues along the lower leg, circles behind
the outer ankle, runs along the outside of the foot.

Symptoms
Main indications

Related to TCM bladder dysfunction


For diseases in the head, neck, eyes, back, groin and lower limbs as well
 Symptoms caused by external pernicious influences
 Difficult urination, incontinence, painful eyes, runny nose, nose as certain and mental illnesses and disorders along the meridian’s
bleeding and nasal congestion pathway.

Location
1.3 cun lateral to Yamen (GV 15), within Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 cun.

Indications
Headache, neck rigidity, nasal obstruction,
pain in the shoulder and back.

the spinous process of the 2nd thoracic
 Find the posterior hairline

Indications
Cough, fever, headache, aching of the
scapular region, stiffness and rigidity of
the neck.
