ASSESSMENT SCHEMA
Under Graduate & Post Graduate

All examinations of Amity University ODL shall be conducted twice in a year (June and December), at the specified
Examination Centers through available modes. Conduct of Examinations, Passing Criteria and Students Disciplinary
Control in the Examinations will be as per Regulations R/I-2005 as amended from time to time.

The overall assessment for a course will consist of the following two components:

1. External Assessments / End Term Examination (ETE) of 70% weightage

2. Internal Assessments of continuous nature and 30% weightage

End Term Examinations would be conducted through Amity’s test engine twice in a year as stated above.
The question papers would consist of multiple choice and subjective questions in the following pattern:–

• Section A: Comprises of Four subjective questions of 7.5 marks each; attempt any two with
detailed answers to be typed by the learner in the dialogue box provided for the purpose. This
section carries 15 marks.

• Section B: Comprises of a case study followed by Two Questions of 7.5 marks each. This section
carries 15 marks.

• Section C: Twenty MCQs of Two marks each. This section carries 40 marks.

Section A 2 Essay Questions X 7.5 Marks each 15 Marks


Section B 2 Essay Questions X 7.5 Marks each 15 Marks
Section C 20 MCQs X 2 Marks each 40 Marks

Total Marks 70 Marks


2. Course Journey and Continuous Internal Assessments
Your courses are designed meticulously towards self-disciplined study pattern, wherein you can complete
your course-work and assessments at your own pace till the last date of submission, while opting for
academic assistance from your faculty anytime during the course-work through various features
available in your learning portal.

You will be required to complete Two Assignments for each course towards successful completion of
your internal assessments. The syllabus of each course is uniformly divided into Five Modules with a
qualifying “Module Assessment” for each. These five Module Assessments will collectively form the “1st
Assignment” of each course. “2nd Assignment” will be available from the first day of access till the last
date of submission and can be attempted at any point of time. However, for better scoring, it is advised to
attempt the 2nd Assignment after successful completion of 1st Assignment.

The successful submission of both, 1st and 2nd Assignments by the stipulated due date, will complete the
process of continuous internal assessments and will contribute 30% weightage towards the final score
for a particular course. Assignment submission facility is available online on your learning portal, which
can be accessed anytime; from any smart device. This continuous internal assessment will facilitate a
comprehensive study of the entire syllabus and provide an indepth understanding of the course.

Key points to be observed during the Course Journey:

• Your course will consist of all required academic deliverables such as:
o Course Objective and Learning Outcome
o Syllabus in Five Modules
o Glossary
o Learning Materials
o Assessments
• All Modules will be opened sequentially
• Each Module will consist of pre-recorded audio-visual lectures, textual learning materials, important
web resources and a module assessment.
• Multiple attempts are allowed, only until you score 30% or above in each assessment and the best
score of all the attempts will be considered for your grade.
• You need to obtain at least 30% marks in both Assignment 1 & 2 to successfully complete your
internal assessment.
PASSING CRITERIA
To qualify in examination a learner must obtain the following Marks: -

• Minimum 30% marks in End Term Examination (ETE)

• Minimum 30% marks in Internal Assessment.

FOR UG PROGRAM
Minimum 35% overall aggregate i.e. both Internal Assessment & End Term Examination put
together

FOR PG PROGRAM/PGD PROGRAM


Minimum 40% overall aggregate i.e. both Internal Assessment & End Term Examination put
together.

However, for qualifying PG courses in each semester you have to obtain a minimum 5.0 Semester Grade
Point Average (SGPA) and minimum 6.0 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) is required to qualify
in the program.

However, for qualifying PGD courses in each semester you have to obtain a minimum 5.0 Semester Grade
Point Average (SGPA) and minimum 5.5 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) is required to qualify
in the program.

Where as for qualifying U.G. courses in each semester you have to obtain a minimum 4.5 Semester Grade
Point Average (SGPA) and minimum 5.0 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) is required to qualify
in the program.

Since End Term Examinations are held twice in a year there will be no supplementary examination for
learners. Learners intending to appear again can do so in the following End Term Examination, as
applicable from time to time, within the maximum duration laid down for that program.
