A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HON. ALLEN JESSE C. MANGAOANG,


CONGRESSMAN, LONE DISTRICT OF KALINGA, THRU ENGR. RUBY A. UYAM,
OIC-DISTRICT ENGINEER, LOWER KALINGA DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH), TO APPROPRIATE
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF TWENTY FIVE MILLION PESOS (Php25,000,000.00)
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A RETAINING WALL AT NANENG WEST,
BARANGAY NANENG, TABUK CITY, KALINGA.

WHEREAS, the construction of a retaining wall at Sitio West, Barangay Naneng, Tabuk
City, Kalinga Province is a project that is specifically aimed at addressing the needs of the
community for protection against soil erosion, accidents and slippage.

WHEREAS, the end of the road of Sitio West of Barangay Naneng is a steep ravine
leading down to the rushing river below. Heavy rainfall has caused continuous soil erosion that
can lead to the collapsing of the ground above endangering the community and it was aggravated
by the past earthquake that hit the Cordillera Administrative Region. Any accident or slippage
thereat may result to serious physical injury or even loss of life of any member of the community
especially children. It may also result to the loss of livestock of the community;

WHEREAS, the construction of a retaining wall at Sitio West of Barangay Naneng will
benefit not only the community but more so, it will act as a safeguard by preventing soil erosion
and any kinds of accidents and slippage and will serve as a warning sign that the aforementioned
area is a dangerous and steep ravine;

WHEREAS, the retaining wall project in Barangay Naneng will promote development in
both the lives and livelihood of the stakeholders;

WHEREAS, the residents of Barangay Naneng, Tabuk City, Kalinga sees the need to ask
for aid as the Barangay lacks the necessary funding for such major facilities due to its meager
financial resources with.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT:

RESOLVED, to earnestly request, as it is hereby requested, of the Congressman Allen


Jesse C. Mangaoang, thru District Engineer Ruby A. Uyam, to appropriate funds in the amount
of Twenty Five Million Pesos (P25,000,000.00) for the construction of a retaining wall at Sitio
West, Barangay Naneng, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to Congressman


Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang, House of Representatives, Batasang Pambansa, Batasan Hills,
Quezon City, and to the office of Engr. Ruby A. Uyam, Lower Kalinga District Engineering
Office-Department of Public Works and Highways, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga for their
information and favourable consideration.
