4. THE INTRODUCTION
Dear people of God, we have come together in the
presence of God to witness and to celebrate the marriage
of Ishmael and Salome to ask His blessing on them, and to
share in their joy. Our Lord Jesus Christ was Himself a
guest at a wedding in Cana of Galilee and blessed this way
of life and through His Spirit He is with us now.
The Scripture teaches that marriage is a gift of God in
creation and a means of His grace, a holy mystery in
which man and woman became one flesh. It is God's
purpose that, as husband and wife gives themselves to
each other in love throughout their lives, they shall be
united in their love as Christ is united with His Church.

SALOMISH 2025
Marriage is given primarily that husband and wife may
comfort an help each other, living faithfully together in
need and in plenty, in sorrow and in joy. It is also given
that with delight and tenderness, they may know each
other in love, and through the joy of their bodily union,
may strengthen the union of their hearts and lives. Lastly,
it is given that they may have children and blessed in
caring for them and bringing them up in accordance with
G o d ' s w i l l , t o H i s p r a i s e a n d g l o r y.
In marriage, husband and wife belong to one another,
and are linked to each other's family and they begin a
new life together in the community. This is way of life
that all should honour; and it must not be undertaken
carelessly, lightly or selfishly but relevantly, responsibly,
and after a serious thought. Into this way of life
ISHMAEL and SALOME come now to be joined. If
any one of you can show just cause why they may not
lawfully be married you must now declared it

forever flowing free, dress
forever shared, forever whole, is by our beds of pain;

for him no depths can drown. 7. Alone, o love ineffable,
4. But warm, sweet, tender, even yet, thy saving name is given;
a present help is he; to turn aside from thee is hell,
and faith still has its Olivet, to walk with thee is heaven.

1. THE LESSON – JOHN 2:1 – 11
1. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of
Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2. And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to
the marriage.
3. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus
saith unto him, They have no wine.
4. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do
with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever
he saith unto you, do it.
6. And there were set there six waterpots of stone,
after the manner of the purifying of the Jews,
containing two or three firkins apiece.
7. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with
water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear
unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water
that was made wine, and knew not whence it
was: (but the servants which drew the water
knew;) the governor of the feast called the
bridegroom,
10. And saith unto him, Every man at the
beginning doth set forth good wine; and when
men have well drunk, then that which is worse:
but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in
Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory;
and his disciples believed on him.
