Advertisement for position of ‘Junior research Fellow’ under the ‘Nanomission, DST’
funded project at Institute of Nano Science and Technology

Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project
Junior Research Fellow in the research project funded by Nanomission DST, Government of
India at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Date of walk-in interview: 13th August, 2024
Reporting time and venue: 10.30 am at INST

Title of the Research Project: Development of strongly spin orbit coupled topological quantum
hetero-structures for spintronic application

Principal Investigator: Dr Indranil Sarkar and Scientist F


Name of the position available: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of positions available: 1
Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate degree/MSc degree in Physics or Nanotechnology or
Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described
through any one of the following:
(a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or JEST.
(b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central
Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS,
DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.
Age limit: : Must not be over 28 years as on 13/08/2024, which is relaxable for certain
reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
Fellowship: Rs 31000 + HRA (as applicable)
Mode of Interview: Walk-in interview (offline/online). For Candidates intending to
appear online must email application form along with request for online interview
latest by 11/08/2024. The email should be sent to [email protected].
Duration: Initially one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate
and availability of funds.

General Terms and Conditions:


 The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year
subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum till the completion of the
project & availability of funds. The position is co-terminus with the project.
Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program
of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
 The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis. The position is co-terminus

 No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
 Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other
testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of
these documents at the time of interview (when interview will take in person).
