Work on materials for technical use

It is proposed to prepare a presentation on the most common technical materials. To do


this, we will organize ourselves into groups and each team will develop one of these
materials. Subsequently, the work done for the whole class will be presented orally.

To organize the presentation, you can use the digital tool that each group decides:
PowerPoint, Genially, Canva... You should always keep in mind that it must be a
document that is as dynamic and attractive as possible.

The aspects that the teacher will assess are the following:

- Quality and quantity of information: 4 points.


- Aesthetics and dynamism of the presentation: 3 points.
- Oral presentation: 3 points.

Below you can find a script of all the aspects that must be worked on for each material:

• Textile materials

• Ceramic materials

- What are ceramic materials?


- Properties.
- Types of ceramic materials.
- Advanced ceramic materials.
- Processing of ceramic materials.
- Use of ceramic materials in construction.
• Glass

- What is glass?
- Composition of the glass.
- Properties.
- Types of glass.
- Manufacturing processes: float glass, glass bottles, fiberglass, and fiber
optics.
- Glass recycling process.
