• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman dedicated to the nation 'Dharohar', the

Cabinet hiked MSP for Kharif crops for marketing season 2022-23
• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved increase in
Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all intended Kharif crops for Marketing Season
2022-23.
• Government approved rates are at least 1.5 times of the all India weighted average
cost of production.
• The highest absolute increase in MSP over the previous year has been recommended
for Sesamum 523 rupees per quintal, Moong 480 rupees per quintal, Sunflower seed
385 rupees per quintal, Tur, Urad and Groundnut 300 rupees per quintal, Cotton
(Medium Staple) 354 rupees and Cotton (Long Staple) 355 rupees.
India's 1st display plant will be set up by Rajesh Exports with $3 billion investment in
Telangana
• Jeweller Rajesh Exports will invest $3 billion to set up the country's first electronic-
display plant in Telangana, the state government said.
• India and many governments around the world have raced to subsidise the
construction of semiconductor and display factories as a shortage has hobbled the
auto and electronics industries and highlighted the world's dependence on a few
sources, such as Taiwan, for vital supplies.

India’s 1st private train service between Coimbatore and Shirdi flagged off under
‘Bharat Gaurav Scheme’
• Under the 'Bharat Gaurav' scheme of the Indian Railways, the first train to be
operated between Coimbatore and Shirdi by a private operator has been flagged off.
• Ministry of Tourism has informed that the first ever Bharat Gaurav Train has been
flagged off on Coimbatore north to Sainagar Shirdi route.
• Indian Railways had launched the operation of theme-based Bharat Gaurav train in
the month of November 2021. The objective of this theme is to showcase India’s rich
cultural heritage and magnificent historical places to the people of India and the
world, through Bharat Gaurav Trains.

• WindStream Energy Technologies India Pvt Ltd has developed this technology. The
energy generated through this technology can be customized on a need-specific basis.

India’s biggest private hospital 2,400-bed Amrita Hospital is all set to open in Faridabad
• The first phase of the 2,400 bed Amrita Hospital in Sector 88, Faridabad, Haryana, a
jumbo facility across 133 acres of land and being touted as India’s largest private
hospital, is set to get operational this August, with 500 beds.
• The total project cost for the jumbo facility is estimated at more than Rs 2,000 crore.
• This would be the second large-scale Amrita Hospital in India after the iconic 1,200-
bed Amrita Hospital in Kochi, Kerala.

• Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has launched a special type of solar stove. The name of
this stove is ‘Surya Nutan’ has given.
• This stove will run entirely on solar energy. With this, there will be no need for any
kind of fuel for cooking. Neither wood nor gas. This stove will be charged by the rays
of the sun and will cook food.

Delhi airport becomes India's first to run entirely on renewable power

• Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has becomes the first airport in the
country to run completely on hydro and solar power.
• This is a part of the airport's goal to achieve the "Net Zero Carbon Emissions Airport"
target by 2030. Around 6% of the Delhi airport’s electricity requirement is met from
the onsite solar power plants.
• The airport has adopted renewable energy use from the hydropower plant for its
demand of the remaining 94%, thus ending its dependency on non-renewable power.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari approved Draft GSR notification to introduce Bharat NCAP

• Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved the Draft GSR
(General Statutory Rules) Notification to introduce Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment
Program).
• According to this draft, automobiles in India shall be accorded Star Ratings based
upon their performance in Crash Tests.
• The testing protocol of Bharat NCAP shall be aligned with Global Crash Test Protocols
factoring in the existing Indian regulations, allowing OEMs (Original Equipment
Manufacturer) to get their vehicles tested at India’s own in-house testing facilities.
Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan completed two years
• Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA), a scheme for migrant workers who were
affected during COVID-19 has completed two years.
• Government of India launched Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) on 20th June
in 2020 for a period of 125 days with a resource envelope of 50,000 crore rupees to
boost employment and livelihood opportunities for returnee migrant workers in the
wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
• Objective - To provide immediate employment and livelihood opportunities to the
distressed, to saturate the villages with public infrastructure and to create public assets
to boost the income generation activities. It enhances long term livelihood opportunities
by giving focus on 25 works in 116 selected districts across 6 states Bihar,
Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Goa celebrated Sao Joao festival
•The people of Goa celebrated the Sao Joao festival, the feast of St John the Baptist
with traditional enthusiasm after a two-year coronavirus-induced gap.
• The festival is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, who baptised Lord Jesus on the
river of Jordan and is celebrated at the onset of monsoon. Siolim, a village in
North Goa, hosts a traditional canoe parade on the occasion of Sao Joao.
Ambubachi Mela ended at Assam's Kamakhya temple

• The annual Ambubachi Mela 2022 has ended at Assam's Kamakhya temple.
• This is the most important religious event of the temple and is also a significant part of
the state's tourism calendar witnessing a footfall of around 25 lakh each year during
the festival. The doors of the temple remain closed for four days in association with
the belief in a fertility cult. It is believed that during this time Goddess Kamakhya
receives her annual menstrual cycle.

India's largest floating solar power project commissioned by Tata power solar in Kerala
• Tata Power Solar Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has
commissioned India's largest floating solar power project in Kayamkulam, Kerala.
• The solar project is spread over 350 acre water body, backwaters area, having an
installed capacity of 101.6 Megawatt (MWp).
• This installation was completed within the stipulated period, despite the arduous
challenges of variable water depths, high sea tides, and severe water salinity concerns
faced throughout the project's construction duration.
• This project is the first in the Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) through power
purchase agreement category.

7th Anniversary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban celebrated by MoHUA

• The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) organized a virtual event 24 to
celebrate 7 years of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U). The event was
presided by Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, MoHUA.
• PMAY-U was launched by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 25th June
2015. It is one of the largest urban housing programmes in the world.
• An e-Book encapsulating achievements of the Mission was then released by
Secretary, MoHUA. The book takes the readers through the initiatives and reforms that
have been undertaken by the Mission to transform the urban landscape of India and
more importantly, the impact it has had on the lakhs of beneficiaries of PMAY-U, who
are proud owners of a pucca house with all basic amenities.
• At the event, winners of Khushiyon Ka Aashiyana Short Film Contest were also
declared. The contest was launched by MoHUA as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
celebrations. It was open to PMAY-U beneficiaries, students, youths, civil society
organisations, institutions and individual/groups above 18 years of age, during the
period 1st July 2021 to 30th September 2021. The broad theme was ‘Transforming
Human Lives in Urban Landscape’ through PMAY-U mission.
• In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Housing for All’, With a total
investment of ₹ 8.31 Lakh Crore PMAY-U has so far sanctioned 122.69 lakh, out of
which more than 1 crore houses have been grounded and over 61 lakh houses
have been completed and delivered to the beneficiaries. Owing to the construction
work under PMAY-U, 423 Lakh MT Cement and 96 Lakh MT Steel have been consumed
while 239 Lakh jobs have been created.

globally and among Indian institutes, MIT got 1st rank overall
• Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), London-based global higher education has released the
19th edition of the world's most consulted international university ranking.
• 41 Indian varsities have been found place in the rankings. Among QS World
University Rankings top 200 varsities, The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru
(155th) topped among Indian universities, followed by IIT Bombay (172nd) and IIT
Delhi (174th).
• IISc rankedas the top research university in the world with a perfect score of 100 in
the citation per faculty parameter.

India signed MLAT on criminal matters with Poland to support investigation &
prosecution of crimes
• India and Poland have signed a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) on
Criminal Matters.
• The treaty aims to enhance the effectiveness of both Poland and India in the
investigation and Prosecution of various crimes including crimes related to
terrorism, through cooperation and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
• Poland becomes the 45th country to sign an MLAT on criminal matters with New
Delhi.

UNCTAD’s World Investment Report: India ranked 7th among recipients of FDI in CY
2021; US topped
• India jumped one position to 7th among the top recipients of foreign direct
investment (FDI) in the last calendar year (2021) despite FDI inflows into the
country declining, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development (UNCTAD).
• In its latest World Investment Report, UNCTAD said FDI inflows into India declined
to $45 billion in 2021 from $64 billion in the preceding year. Outward FDI from India
rose 43 per cent to $15.5 billion in 2021.
• While the United States ($367 billion) remained the top recipient of FDI, China
($181 billion) and Hong Kong ($141 billion) also retained second and third position
respectively.

members of UN Security Council
• United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) elected Ecuador, Japan, Malta,
Mozambique, and Switzerland to serve as non-permanent members of the Council
(UNSC) for a two-year term beginning January 01, 2023.
• The newly elected countries will replace India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, and Norway,
which will vacate their seats at the end of 2022. The UNSC is a United Nations (UN)
organisation tasked with maintaining global peace and security.

• India’s two-year stint as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security

Council will finish in December 2022, when it will simultaneously hold the Presidency
of the powerful UN body.

India extended $55 million credit line to Sri Lanka for fertiliser imports
• The Indian government has decided to extend a Line of Credit (LOC) of USD 55
million to Sri Lanka for the procurement of Urea Fertiliser.
• An LOC agreement was signed between GOSL and the Export-Import Bank of India
on June 10, 2022 at Colombo, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil
Wickremesinghe, the Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera, and the High
Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay.

APEDA organized mango festival in Bahrainto boost export of mangoes

• In a major boost to the export of mangoes, Agricultural and Processed Food Products
Export Development Authority (APEDA) launched an eight-day-long Mango
Festival in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
• At the show, 34 varieties of mangoes from eastern states of West Bengal, Bihar,
Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, are being displayed at eight different locations
of Bahrain's Al Jazira group supermarket.

Indian’s funds in Swiss banks jump 50% to over Rs 30 lakh crore in 2021
• Funds parked by Indian individuals and firms in Swiss banks, including through
India-based branches and other financial institutions, jumped to a 14-year-high of
3.83 billion Swiss francs(over Rs 30,500 crore) in 2021, according to annual data
from Switzerland's central bank

• The rise in aggregate funds of Indian clients with Swiss banks, from 2.55 billion Swiss
francs (Rs 20,700 crore) at the end of 2020, marks the second consecutive year of
increase.
• In terms of assets (or funds due from customers), Indian clients accounted for CHF
4.68 billion at the end of 2021, up nearly 10 per cent. This included dues from Indian
customer’s worth about CHF 323 million after a rise of 25 per cent during the year.
• India was placed at 44th place, ahead of countries like Poland, South Korea, Sweden,
Bahrain, Oman, New Zealand, Norway, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Hungary and
Finland.
• In BRICS nations, India stood below Russia (15th place) and China (24th), but above
South Africa and Brazil.

Public Sector Banks doubled their Net Profit to almost Rs 66,500 crore in FY22

• Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have doubled their net profit during the financial year
2021-22.
• For FY22, the combined profit of 12 state-owned banks stood at Rs 66,539 crore a
110 per cent increase from Rs 31,816 crore in FY2020-21.
• This is a sharp change from FY18, at that time only 2 out of 21 PSBs reported profit.

Centre distributes Rs 86,912 crore to states and settles GST compensation debts
• The Central government has released the entire compensation of Rs 86,912 crore
due to states.
• Despite only having roughly Rs 25,000 crore in the GST compensation pool, the
Centre made the whole amount.
• Compensation of Rs 47,617 crore was due up to January, Rs 21,322 crore was due
for February-March, Rs 17,973 crore was due for April-May, out of Rs. 86,912 crores
released to states.
• The compensation period may not be extended beyond the June-end deadline.
• To make up for the gap in GST compensation to states, New Delhi borrowed Rs 1.59 lakh
crore from the market in FY22 and Rs 1.1 lakh crore in FY21 and passed the money on
to the states.

Government approved 8.1% EPF interest rate for 2021-22
• The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will start crediting 8.1% Rate
of Interest for the year 2021-22 soon.
• In March, EPFO decided to lower the interest on provident fund deposits for 2021-22
to 8.1 per cent from 8.5 per cent provided in 2020-21.
• The 8.1 per cent EPF rate of interest is the lowest since 1977-78, when it stood at 8 per
cent.
RBI imposed monetary penalty of Rs. 49 lakh on Bassein Catholic Co-operative Bank and
Rs. 50,000 on JilaSahakariKendriya Bank Maryadit
• The Reserve Bank of India imposed a monetary penalty on Bassein Catholic Co-
operative Bank and JilaSahakariKendriya Bank Maryadit charged the penalty of Rs.
49 lakh and Rs. 50,000 respectively for non-compliance with certain directives issued
by it.
• The penalty was charged on Bassein Catholic Co-operative Bank because it had
upgraded and regularised loan accounts of borrowers without recovering overdue
amounts and had not classified existing non-performing loan accounts of borrowers as
NPAs, on restructuring.

RBI imposed monetary penalty of Rs 27.50 lakh on Punjab & Sind Bank
• The Reserve Bankof India has imposed a penalty of Rs 27.5 lakh on Punjab & Sind
Bank for non-compliance with certain directions issued by it on 'external benchmark-
based lending'.
• A statutory examination of Punjab & Sind Bank revealed non-compliance with the
directions, inter-alia, to the extent the bank linked certain floating rate retail loans
and floating rate loans to micro and small enterprises, extended by it after October 1,
2019, to MCLR instead of an external benchmark.

RBI cancelled licence of Mudhol Co-op Bank, Bagalkot, Karnataka

• The Reserve Bank has cancelled the licence of The Mudhol Co-operative Bank
Limited, Bagalkot (Karnataka), thus restricting it from repayment of deposits and
acceptance of fresh funds.
• The bank does not have adequate capital and earning prospects, the Reserve Bank
of India (RBI) said while announcing the cancellation of licence.

Kiya.ai launched India’s 1st banking metaverse ‘Kiyaverse’

• Kiya.ai, a digital solutions provider serving financial institutions and governments
globally, announced the launch of India’s first-ever banking metaverse - Kiyaverse.
• In the first phase, banks will be allowed to roll-out their own metaverse for clients,
partners and employees through service offerings that include relationship
manager, peer avatars and robo-advisors. Kiyaverse plans to have tokens as NFTs and
support CBDC to enable open finance in a Web3.0 environment.

SBI Foundation launched a Digital Learning Platform ‘UpSchool’ with Khan Academy
• SBI Foundation in partnership with Khan Academy, an educational nonprofit in India,
has launched UpSchool, a digital learning program for students from classes 1 to
10.
• This program will be available in English, Hindi and Kannada languages aiming to
reduce learning gaps and build a solid foundation in math and reading for their
current academic year.
RBI increased individual housing loan limit for co-operative banks
• RBI has raised the limits for individual housing loans being extended by Urban
Cooperative Banks (UCBs) and Rural Cooperative Banks (RCBs) by over 100%.
• RBI has also permitted the Rural Cooperative Banks (RCB) for financing
residential real estate projects, in a bid to support affordable housing and inclusive
growth.
• The limits for Tier I /Tier II UCBs have been revised from ₹30 lakh/ ₹70 lakh to ₹60
lakh/ ₹140 lakh, respectively.
• The limits have been increased from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh for RCBs with assessed net
worth less than ₹100 crore, and from ₹30 lakh to ₹75 lakh for other RCBs.

CPI-based Retail inflation in India eases to 7.04% in May

• India’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) based retail inflation eased marginally to
7.04% in May from the nearly eight-year high of 7.79% in April.
• Inflation faced by rural consumers fell from 8.38% in April to 7.01% in May, but for
households in urban areas, the pace of price rise was virtually flat month-on-month,
moving from 7.09% in April to 7.08% in May.
• Food price inflation, which had hit a 17-month high of 8.31% in April, eased a little to
7.97% in May thanks to a decline in rural food inflation from 8.5% to 7.76%. However,
the Consumer Food Price Index surged further for urban India from 8.09% in April to
8.2% in May.

Indian Bank launched digital renewal scheme for KCC holders

• Indian Bank launched its KCC Digital Renewal scheme, enabling eligible customers to
renew their Kisan Credit Card accounts via digital modes.
• The initiative is part of the bank’s digital transformation under project ‘WAVE’ - World
of Advanced Virtual Experience. The account renewals can be done using Indian
Bank’s IndOASIS mobile app and internet banking.
• Out of the total agriculture portfolio of ₹88,100 crores, KCC constitutes ₹22,300 crores
with 15.84 lakh customers.

Bharat FIH got approval by SEBI for ₹5,000 crore Initial Public Offering
• Bharat FIH has received market regulator SEBI's approval for an Initial Public
Offering (IPO) aggregating to ₹5,000 crores.
• Bharat FIH is a subsidiary of FIH Mobile a leading manufacturing services provider
for the mobile handset industry, which is a part of Foxconn Technology Group. The
company makes devices for Xiaomi and Nokia.
• The IPO size comprises a fresh issue worth ₹2,501.9 crore and an offer for sale up
to ₹2,501.9 crore by Wonderful Stars.

OmniCard became first RBI licensed PPI to launch cash withdrawal in all ATM across
India
• Payment solution provider OmniCard became the first RBI licensed PPI to launch
cash withdrawal using a RuPay-powered card from any ATMs across the country.
• The move came in after RBI permitted the non-bank licensed entities to enable cash
withdrawals from the digital wallets.
• OmniCard users can withdraw cash from any ATM at their convenience with full
security from frauds like card theft, card cloning, and PIN skimming. The company is
working with NPCI to enable the facility.
Trade deficit of India broadens to $24.29 billion in May 2022
• Trade data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed that India's
May trade deficit widened to $24.29 billion from $6.53 billion a year ago.
• May's trade deficit was pushed up by a surge in imports, which rose 62.83% year-on-
year to $63.22 billion, while exports rose 20.55% to $38.94 billion.
• India's merchandise exports in the month of May rose by 20.55% to $38.94 billion.
Imports grew by 62.83% to $63.22 billion. The trade deficit stood at $6.53 billion on
May 2021. Cumulative exports in April-May 2022-23 rose by about 25% to $78.72
billion. Imports in April-May 2022-23 rose 45.42% to $123.41 billion.

HSBC India announced $250 Million lending support for Indian start-ups

• HSBC will administer the lending via its commercial banking division. It has also not

RBI lifted restrictions on MasterCard over onboarding of new domestic customers

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted restrictions on US-based payments
technology major MasterCard that was imposed on July 14, 2021, from issuing new
credit, debit, and prepaid cards.
• The restrictions were put in place because of the company's failure to comply with
local data storage norms that require payments companies to store data related to
Indian customers only in the country.

RBI raised limit of e-mandates for transactions up to Rs 15,000

• The Reserve Bank of India raised the Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA)
limit from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 per transaction for e-mandates on cards, Prepaid
Payment Instruments (PPIs) and UPI for recurring transactions.
• It implies, additional authentication will not be need for payment of ₹15,000 per
transaction.
• Under e-mandate, an individual can give standing instruction to the bank to debit a
specific amount automatically on a recurring basis.

• The government has declared computer resources of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and UPI
managing entity NPCI to be 'protected systems' under the IT Act, 2000.
• Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), in the notification declared the IT resources of
the private sector lender as critical infrastructure under Section 70 of the IT Act, 2000.
• This implies that any harm to these resources can have an impact on national security,
economy, public health or safety.
• Further, any unauthorised person accessing these resources may be jailed for up to 10
years.

RBI suspended license of Karnataka based Millath Co-operative Bank

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that Millath Co-operative Bank Ltd.,
Davangere, Karnataka, had its license suspended leading to a shortage of capital.

• The estimated cost of next generation corvettes (NGC) is Rs. 36,000 crores.
Defence Ministry increased funding limit of TDF Scheme of DRDO to Rs 50 crore per

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved enhancement of funding
under Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme to Rs 50 crores per project

test range in Chandipur, Odisha.
• This missile system is capable of striking targets with a very high degree of

• It is powered by liquid propulsion twin engines. Its range is 250 km and can carry
one-ton payload.
Government announced 10% reservation for Agniveers in CAPFs, Assam Rifiles
• The central government announced a 10% reservation for Agniveers in the Central
Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assam Rifiles recruitment.
• The Ministry of Home Affairs also decided to grant 3 years age relaxation to
Agniveers in the CAPFs and Assam Rifles who are between the ages of 17.5 and 21.

Indian Coast Guard inducts new Advanced Light Helicopter Squadron 840 CG

• The Eastern Region of Indian Coast Guard has inducted the indigenously designed
and developed Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mark III, the first aircraft of the
newly created 840 Squadron.
• The new squadron will be stationed at the headquarters of the Eastern Region of the
Coast Guard, Chennai.
• Three more ALHs will be added to the inventory of '840 Squadron' shortly.

• The DRDO and the Indian Army successfully tested indigenously-developed anti-
tank guided missile at KK range in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
• The anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) was successfully test fired from Arjun battle
tank.
• The all-indigenous ATGM employs a tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead
to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) protected armoured vehicles. The ATGM has
been developed with multi-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing
technical evaluation trials from 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun.
Indian Coast Guard launched centralised pay system called PADMA
• A centralised pay system called PADMA (Pay Roll Automation for Disbursement of
Monthly Allowances) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has been launched by
Controller General of Defence Accounts Rajnish Kumar.
• PADMA is an automated platform leveraging latest technology which will provide
seamless and timely disbursal of pay and allowances to around 15,000 ICG
personnel.
• PADMA has been developed under the aegis of Defence Accounts Department and

S Somanath inaugurated ANANTH Technologies’ spacecraft manufacturing facility in
Karnataka
• Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman, Dr S Somanath, has
inaugurated ANANTH Technologies’ spacecraft manufacturing unit at Karnataka
Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) Aerospace Park.
• The new state-of-the-art spacecraft manufacturing facility can conduct assembly
integration and testing of four large spacecraft simultaneously.
NHIDCL signed MoU with IIT Roorkee for sharing knowledge in field of highway
engineering
• The National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation
Limited (NHIDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT)-Roorkee for sharing knowledge on innovative ideas
and technologies in the field of highway engineering.
• This MoU’s purpose is to establish the collaboration between the NHIDCL and IIT-
Roorkee in order to take up various activities of common interest such as sharing
knowledge on innovative ideas and other infrastructure works as per mutually agreed
terms and conditions.
NASA’s DAVINCI Mission to Venus will launch in 2029
• NASA will launch a mission that will both fly by Venus and descend through its harsh
atmosphere in 2029. Called DAVINCI, the Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of
Noble gases, Chemistry and Imaging mission will be the first to study Venus
through both flybys and descent.
• The spacecraft is expected to explore the layered Venusian atmosphere and reach its
surface by June 2031.

• DAVINCI spacecraft will serve as a flying chemistry lab. It can measure different
aspects of atmosphere and climate of Venus.
India launched its 1st COVID-19 vaccine ‘Anocovax’ for animals
• Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched Anocovax, India's first
homegrown COVID-19 vaccine for animals.
• The vaccine is produced by the ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines
(NRCE) in Haryana.
• The vaccine uses Alhydrogel as an adjuvant and contains inactivated SARS-CoV-2
(Delta) antigen.
• Anocovax is a SARS-CoV-2 Delta (COVID-19) vaccine for animals that is inactivated. It
is also safe for dogs, lions, leopards, mice, and bunnies.
India will launch first human space mission & first human ocean mission in 2023
• Union Minister of State (MoS) (I/C), Ministry of Earth Sciences; and Ministry of Science
& Technology Dr Jitendra Singh announced that India is set to simultaneously
launch the first Human Space Mission “Gaganyaan” as well as the first manned
Human Ocean Mission in 2023.
• The announcement was made during the event organised as a part of World Ocean
Day 2022 (8th June) at Prithvi Bhawan, Delhi.
• He also announced that the government is set to unveil the Blue Economy Policy and
more than 40 million people will be employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.
