Security Manual Fix - Apendice B
This appendix lists the system and error messages that the Security Configuration program displays. Along with
the message, the response to the error or the message's meaning is included. When user action is required, be
sure to select the OK button on the message box to acknowledge you have read the message before taking the
recommended action. If the message appears in a dialog box, select the OK button after doing the
recommended action.
Application user not found. You entered a full name in the Application User field that the
Reenter. security system could not find. Click on the ? button and
select a name from the list of user accounts that appears. If
no user account appears with the name you want, create the
account first.
CAUTION: Backup security path You attempted to change the configuration of your node
currently in use while the security path is unavailable. While you can make
changes, be sure you reconfigure the node again to reflect
these changes when the security path becomes available.
Configuration has changed. You selected the Exit command without saving the changes
Save new changes? you have made. Select the YES button to save the changes
or select the NO button to quit without saving your changes.
To continue using the Security Configuration program select
the CANCEL button.
Copy existing configuration to You redefined the security path. Select the YES button to
new path? move the user and group accounts to the new path, select
the NO button to leave the files in the current location, or
select the CANCEL button to return to the Configuration
dialog box.
Delete existing security You selected Clear from the File menu. Select the YES
configuration? button to delete all the user and group accounts. Select the

Disable security or give a user You have enabled the security system without creating any
access to this program before user accounts that can access the Security Configuration
exiting program. Create at least one user account that can access
the program before you exit.
Failure exporting security The Security Configuration program could not export the
configuration current security configuration. Make sure you have free
space on your hard disk. If you do not, back up any
unnecessary files and delete them. When you finish deleting
files, try exporting the configuration again.
Failure reading security The Security Configuration program could not load the
configuration report file you specified. Make sure the report file exists in
the currently defined security path. If it does not, copy the file
to the security path and try loading the file again.
Failure writing security files. The Security Configuration program could not save the
Check disk space. current configuration. Make sure you have free space on
your hard disk. If you do not, back up any unnecessary files
and delete them. When you finish deleting files, try saving
the configuration again.
Group name needed to save a You attempted to create a group account without specifying
group a name for it. Enter a name of up to 20 alphanumeric
characters in the Group Name field on the Group Profile
dialog box and select the OK button to create the account.
Invalid path specified You specified a path in the Backup Path field that does not

exist. Either create the directory or retype the text in the field.
Invalid timeout value entered! Either you specified a non-numeric value for the Login
Timeout field or you entered a numeric value in a format the
Security Configuration program does not recognize. Type a
numeric value in the field using the format: hh:mm:ss
New path has no security files. You selected the NO button when the Security Configuration
Copy files or CANCEL change. program prompted you to copy the user and group accounts.
Because no account files already exist in the specified
security path, selecting the NO button is not a valid choice.
Select the YES button or the CANCEL button instead.
Ok to DELETE this group? The Security Configuration program is about to delete the
group account you selected. Select the YES button to delete
the account or select the NO button to keep it.
Ok to DELETE this user? The Security Configuration program is about to delete the
user account you selected. Select the YES button to delete
the account or select the NO button to keep it.
Ok to lose current changes? You selected the CANCEL button on a dialog box. Select
the YES button to abort the changes you have made or
select the NO button to continue making changes.
Old configuration not found! The Security Configuration program could not find the
backup of the previous security configuration and saved the
current configuration instead. This can occur when the files
have been renamed or deleted. The backup path may have
also been changed.

Overwrite existing export file? The name of the file you entered already exists. Select the
YES button to overwrite the file, select the NO button to enter
a new file name, or select the CANCEL button to abort the
process.
Password confirmation failed. The password you typed does not match the one you
Save Aborted. entered on the User Profile dialog box. Select the OK button
on the dialog box and retype the password in the message
box that appears. If the message persists, retype the
password on the User Profile dialog box, select the OK
button, and type the password again.
Save failed! The Security Configuration program could not save the
current configuration. Make sure you have free space on
your hard disk. If you do not, back up any unnecessary files
and delete them. When you finish deleting files, try saving
the configuration again.
security configuration corrupted The Security Configuration program cannot find the security
files in the specified security path. Rename all the files with
the.^TL extension to .UTL and restart the Security
Configuration program.
Security Files must be manually The security path you specified does not exist.
copied from old_path Consequently, the Security Configuration program cannot
copy the current defined user and group accounts to the
specified path. You must copy the files to this path once it
becomes available. If you do not, the Security Configuration
program assumes someone has tampered with it and will

Security path invalid or The security system could not find the security path you
unavailable. Continue? specified. Make sure it exists and try again. If the path points
to a file server, make sure the server is functioning properly.
Should default user and group You have selected the Clear command to delete all the user

program allows you to create sample user and group

Unauthorized access to Security You attempted to start the Security Configuration program
Configurator but your user account does not provide access to the
program or you are not logged in. Log into the node, if
necessary, and try again.
Unique login and full names You entered a login name or full name already in use by
