How to Create a Simple Website Using Wix


What You’ll Need:
- A computer or smartphone with internet access
- A valid email address

Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1: Go to Wix Website
Open your web browser.
Type www.wix.com in the address bar and press Enter.
Step 2: Create an Account or Log In
Click Get Started or Sign Up.
Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google or Facebook.
If you already have an account, just click Log In.
Step 3: Choose How You Want to Create Your Website
After signing in:
- You’ll be asked 'What kind of website do you want to create?'
- Choose a category (e.g., Portfolio, Business, Blog, Online Store, etc.)
- You’ll then have two options:
- Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) — automatically creates a website for you based on
answers you provide.
- Wix Editor — lets you pick a template and customize it yourself (this is recommended if you
want creative control).
Step 4: Pick a Template
If using the Wix Editor:
- Browse through the templates by category.
- Click View to preview or Edit to start customizing a template you like.
Step 5: Customize Your Website
In the Wix Editor:
- Use the drag-and-drop editor to move elements (text, images, buttons) around.
- Click on any element to edit it:
- Text: Click, then type your own content.
- Images: Click the image → Change Image to upload your own or select from Wix’s media.
- Add Elements: Use the + Add button on the left to add text, images, buttons, videos, menus,
galleries, etc.
- Pages: Use the Menus & Pages button to add new pages or rename existing ones.
Step 6: Set Up Your Site Settings
Click Settings on the left panel.
Set your Site Title, Description (for search engines), and Favicon (small browser icon).
Set up SEO basics if you wish, like keywords and meta descriptions.
Step 7: Preview Your Website
Click Preview at the top right to see how your site will look when published.
Make any adjustments as needed by clicking Back to Editor.
Step 8: Publish Your Website
When you’re happy with your website, click Publish (top-right corner).
You’ll be asked to choose a domain:
- Free domain: yourusername.wixsite.com/sitename
- Or you can connect your own custom domain (paid option).
Step 9: Share Your Website
After publishing, copy your site’s URL and share it with others!

Tips:
- Keep your design clean and uncluttered.
- Use high-quality images.
- Limit your color palette for a consistent look.
- Make sure your text is easy to read.
- Test your website on both desktop and mobile views.
