SOCIAL SCIENCE PROJECTS - CLASS X (2025-26)

PROJECT 1

For Class 10 CBSE Social Science project work, students can choose from three main themes: Consumer
Awareness, Social Issues, or Sustainable Development. The goal is to encourage students to apply their
social science knowledge, develop life skills, and gain a deeper understanding of these themes. Projects
should be handwritten, include a title page and assessment sheet, and be approximately 15 pages long,
incorporating illustrations, cartoons, or art.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Themes (Choose any one):

Consumer Awareness:
This could involve researching consumer rights, the role of courts in implementing consumer protection,
and methods for spreading consumer awareness.
Social Issues:
Students can explore issues like gender inequality, caste-based discrimination, linguistic diversity, regional
disparities, economic inequalities, or religious diversity.
Sustainable Development:
This could involve examining the meaning, importance, and current status of sustainable development,
including related meetings, reports, and summits.

2. Project Components:
Content: The project should be well-researched and accurately reflect the chosen theme.
Presentation: Creativity and innovation are encouraged, including illustrations, cartoons, or other artistic
elements. The project should be neatly organized and presented.
Viva-Voce: Students will likely have a viva-voce (oral examination) to discuss their project and
demonstrate their understanding.
Assessment: Projects are assessed based on content accuracy, originality, collaborative skills,
competencies exhibited, presentation creativity, and the viva-voce.

3. Project Requirements:
Handwritten: Projects should be handwritten by the students themselves.
Page Limit: The project should be approximately 15 pages long (including the title page and assessment
sheet).
Eco-Friendly: Only eco-friendly materials should be used for the project.
Required Pages: The project should include a title page, assessment sheet, index, acknowledgement,
bibliography, and a conclusion.

5. Project Evaluation:

PROJECT - 2 (INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT)

Guidelines: It involves combining 2 or more disciplines into one activity-more coherent and integrated.
The generally recognized disciplines are economics, History, Geography and Political Science.
Topic: The Making of a Global World, Globalisation and Lifelines of Economy

(The Project is to be done in groups comprising any four students in each group. The Project will be
submitted handwritten or print form supported by pictures/graphs/images etc. in a File )
Suggestive plan for Interdisciplinary Project:
1: Introduction to the Interdisciplinary Project and Setting the Context:
2: The Great Depression:

3: India and the Great Depression:

4: Rebuilding the World Economy and Interlinking Production across countries.
5: The Early Post-War Years: The role of roadways, railways, waterways and airways in building the national
economy.

6: Post war settlement and Bretton Woods institutions.

7: Decolonization and Independence - The Role of World Trade Organization:
8: End of Bretton Woods and the Beginning of Globalisation:
9: Impact of Globalization in India and role of waterways and airways.
10. Final presentation: Conclude the interdisciplinary project and summarize the key takeaways.
