III. RESOURCES AND MATERIALS: flash cards, crayons, paper, pictures, mini boards, markers, … (number 1,
number 2, 1 red apple, 2 green apples, 1 yellow crayon, 2 black birds, ...)

Warm up - Greet students. whole class


5 mins Hello song
- Ask students sing along the song.
- Weather report
- Stick Class Rules.

Follow me – Review all the classroom signals. whole class


Review - Tell students the rules and signals of the class.
3 mins - Revise all the chants and instruction used in class.
- Let the students practice the classroom signals.

Lead in:
- Draw an apple on the board and ask:” What is this?”
- Students answer: apple whole class
Present - Point to the apple and say:” It is one apple. One. One.”.
information - Students repeat in chorus.
5 mins - Draw two more apples and say: “Two apples, two, two”.
- Write 1 and 2 in numbers and words to introduce new words: 1 – one; 2 – two.
- Ask students to repeat in chorus.
- Students pass the Flashcards and read the new words individually.

- Explain the key words in mother language. “Trace” and “Write”
- Have students open their books page 5 and do task 1 and 2
Guided practice
- Have students to say aloud the number when they write or trace.

- Go around and help students when it’s necessary.
- Check all students’ work when they finish.
Pair/ group 2. Game: Who’s faster?
practice - Invite some students and divide them into 2 teams. groups
10 mins - Explain the rule: Students earn point when they can say and write the numbers
correctly in the fastest way.
- Write the numbers with missing letters on the board.

- Ask student to look at their books page 6 pairs
- Let students look at the pictures and say aloud.
- Invite some students to check their work.
- Draw students’ attention and ask if they can count one or two things they can see.
Example:

+ one, two – two pens.
- Students work in pairs, point to things they see and count.
- Check their work.

Flip the coin


- Prepare some paper coins and write number 1 and 2 on each side. groups
Conclusion - Have students work in group of four or six.
5 mins - Students take turn to flip the coin and say the number the see on the coin then they
have to find things in the classroom and count it correctly.
- Invite couple groups to check their progress; if all the members of the group can
count correctly, they can have stickers.

10 mins Game: Pass the ball


- Let students work in pairs. pairs
- Stick some flash cards, word cards and pictures around the classroom.
- One student will count 1, another will count 2.
- Students pass the ball when teacher plays music.
- When it stops, which pair has the ball has to stand up and look at the teaching aids
and count. Student no1 will count one and student no 2 will count two.
Ex: Student 1: one board – student 2: two cats.
- Take out used teaching aids.
- Stop when all the teaching aids is taken out.

Conclusion Task 4.
5 mins - Ask student to look at task 4 in their books page 10. individual
- Draw students’ attention to the picture: “This is a beautiful living room.”
- Point to the cat, ants and books in order and ask: “What is this?”
- Students answer.
- Let students look at the pictures and count aloud.
- Have students to say aloud the numbers when they write them.
- Go around and help students when it’s necessary.
- Check all students’ work when they finish.
