The Philosophy Of Education And Education
The philosophy of education seeks to study the process and discipline of education in order to
understand how it works, improve its methods and perfect its purposes in today s society. How this
is done is determined by how well the learner internalizes the concepts of the discipline taught by the
educator. Educators have a tremendous responsibility not only to prepare students for their lives
ahead, but also to contribute to the evolution of knowledge for future generations. Each generation
not only educates the next but also improves our way of thinking. Ideally, every teacher has a
philosophy of educationsetting a certain tone in the classroom and establishes a goal to see whether
or not the expectations of students performances are being reached.
In today s society, every student needs a positive role model. As a teacher, you take on the
responsibility of implementing empathy, respect, confidence, and motivation within each classroom
environment. By fostering a 2nd home type of atmosphere, I believe that students will translate a
feeling of acceptance into a desire to succeed in both their academic and personal lives. The
combination of nurture and discipline will give each student the foundation needed to achieve their
goals. Driving a student to realize their potential is an important task that only dedicated teachers can
instill.
Tracing back to the 19th century, Friedrich Froebel, a European educator, created one of the most
innovative philosophies of
Analysis Of The Movie The Film
Michael Hughes
Romero (the movie) is a biopic movie released in 1989 American biopic which depicts the life and
death of the Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero, who led peaceful protests against a violent
military regime and made sure the people knew the truth, even though this ended up costing him his
life. He is portrayed in the movie by Raul Julia.
Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez was born in 1917 and died March 24 1980. Romero was a
high ranking member of the Catholic Church, who served as the fourth Archbishop of San
Salvador. He was a very outspoken man with strong political opinions. He spoke out against social
injustice, poverty, and the brutalities of Salvadoran life, such as the assassinations and torture that
were carried out by the right wing death squads. In 1980 Romero was shot during the middle of a
Mass that he was offering in a small hospital chapel in the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador and
died.
Romero was born on August 15th, 1917 to Santos Romero and Guadalupe de Jésus Galdámez in
Ciudad Barrios in the San Miguel department of El Salvador. Oscar Romero was baptized into the
Church shortly after he turned one. He had many siblings, including 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Romero
entered public school for the three years it was offered. He then used a tutor to continue studying

Vietnam War Protest Songs
Other Vietnam War Music Protest Songs During the Vietnam War, there was significant protest
songs released. An example is War by Edwinn Starr, famous for the lyrics War (huh)! What is it
good for? Absolutely nothing, say it again! This was also released from the Motown record
Label, showing their quick move into political music and music that directly reflected the feelings
of American citizens. There were several other examples of this kind of music, some released by
Motown and others not. Another great example of a song released with meaning about the
Vietnam war was Aretha Franklin s cover of Respect , originally sung by Otis Redding in 1965 but
covered by her in 1967. Her version of the song changed the meaning of several of the... Show more

The song is set in a major key, and has lots of climbing major thirds which are another indicator of
its major and joyous tone. However, the lyrics oppose this highly. A section of the lyrics are I don
t want to be a soldier! I don t want to go to war! I d rather stay at home, around the streets to roam,
and live on the earnings of a lady typist, I don t want a bayonet in my belly, I don t want my
b*llocks shot away! I d rather stay in England, in merry, merry England, and fornicate my bleedin
life away! The satirical and mocking song shows the reality of life for most soldiers who fought
in the war, as most of them may have been unaware what they were fighting for and would have
preferred to stay at home, had there not been the immense pressure to sign up for the war effort .
To summarize, politics has inspired various pieces of music writing, from soft rock to pop,
throughout history and is used as an outlet to show public response to politicians and their views or
laws that they put in place.
The Black Widow Spider
The Black Widow spider has been captured as part of the Natural life Museum s ongoing Spider
Survey. The spider has been found for the first time in the California. The live, poisonous, dark
spider is presently put on show for public in the Museum s Insect display section. Jim Brown,
associate custodian of Natural life Museum, stated, The Black Widow has not been seen before in
the California. Most likely this spider has originated in South Africa, but has been instigated into
the tropical areas across the world, he said. As per Jim, one of the many ways the Black Widow
spider might have arrived in California through commercial imports of various things like plants,
food or furniture. The Black Widow is so uncommon to the California that
Tablets And Online Textbooks Vs. Traditional Textbooks
Financially, it is more beneficial for districts to purchase tablets and online textbooks compared to
traditional textbooks. In order to use school budgets most efficiently, it is vital that funds are
directed towards the most resourceful items for the students. As the state funding for public schools
decreases, this becomes a more prominent concern. Tablets provide a simple fix to the need of a
modern, cost saving solution. According to one resource, the average textbookcosts $70 each, verse
a 6 year subscription that costs between $38 $55 for an online textbook (Elliot, 2013). This
shows that online textbooks are more cost effective, not only in the long run, but at the time of
purchase. The online versions of textbooks are less expensive because there is not physical
material being purchased, whereas traditional textbooks require paper and ink to be produced.
Simply using the tablets for textbooks alone will save districts approximately $15 32 each time a
textbook is purchased. For example, tablets cost between $200 and $600 per student, and provide
a plethora of resources (DeNeen, 2012). Although this cost may seem like a lot up front, if the
amenities are taken into consideration, it is more cost effective. For example, a camera alone
would cost only a small amount less than a full tablet that includes a camera which could be used to
document class projects or experiments for later reference. Tablets are also equipped with free
calculators, allowing school
Pest Analysis of Nokia and Motorola and Their Marketing...
1. INTRODUCTION : There is no doubt, that with the invention of the telephone, telecommunication
has become one of the essential innovations of human being since the 19th century, and at the
present time, companies which support worldwide dialogue as premier leaders are the celluler
phone manufacturers. I vividly remember the first time a mobile phone, the legendary Nokia 8110,
had been welcomed in our family through my father. Although it was Motorola Incorporation that
launched the first mobile in 1973 into the market by Martin Cooper, who was working as an
engineer for the company at that time, Nokia had managed to astonish people in my country,
Turkey, by the 8110. It had all the attention, for a specific period of time, in... Show more content on

4.1.2 Pricing Strategies : Nokia Company prefers to sell its products at a high price. If it launches
a high tech mobile phone to the market, the market entry price can be 200 pounds or over it.
However, the high prices for the beginning are reduced after a period of time (approximately in 2
months). Nokia knows how to step wisely at pricing. It monitors the prices that are put on the
market by its competitors and depending on those prices, Nokia try to determine on lower prices
for its own products, lower but the closest price to its rivals . The company affirms that their
customers will not mind paying a bit more for the highest technology they are served by Nokia. It
is also important for Motorola to get the right price for their customers in the way that they can
make profit as well. The pricing strategy of Motorola is essentially based on the same logic Nokia
has. At an early stage, Motorola will sell its mobile phones by a high price and when sales
increase, the cost of the products lessen. Therefore the prices can fall off. 4.1.3 Place Strategies :
Motorola Inc. has got several means of distributing its goods to buyers, such as using online service
for selling, dialling with network professionals like Three and O2. Another way is retailors that are
independent like Phones 4U. Detecting place can be depended on product occasionally. For example,
The War Of The Vietnam War Essay
Vietnam s independence has come with much struggle, firstly with France s determination to regain
the empire they had ruled for over half a century and then later with America. Because of the length
and the immensely confusing nature of the Vietnam War it is impossible to reflect on America s
oppression towards Vietnamwithout looking at the first Indochina War, where the Vietnamese fought
against the domination of the French imperialism. Edward Lansdale, a former United States air
force officer once stated it is like a spectator arriving in the middle of a complex drama, without true
knowledge of the plot or of the identity and motivation of those in the drama. By the time the
American s committed to a ground war in Vietnam, many were describing the war against France not
only as a fight against colonialism but also as the beginning of the struggle against American
imperialism. Both America and France assumed that the Vietnamese were unfit to govern themselves
and neither would consider Vietnam gaining independence. The war period in Vietnam has a death
toll so high it still remains contested, making war Vietnam s predicament for well over forty years
with no other country suffering as many casualties of war since World War II.
France, a late comer to the European scramble for economic and political dominance in Asia,
developed an ideology to justify their imperial domination called the civilising mission or better
known as the white man s burden claiming it was
Analysis Of Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms
In WWI nearly 37 million people died, Ernest Hemingway was not one of them. Hemingway was
an ambulance driver in the Italian army until he was eventually injured by an artillery shell. Once
Hemingway returned home he began writing a book based on his experiences of WWI. That book
is A Farewell to Arms. In 1929 he published this book and it was met with mixed feelings and calls
for it to be banned. I believe that A Farewell to Armsshould not be banned because it brings to light
many different viewpoints about the war as well as strong literary strategies beneficial to good
writing.

Frederic is then left to walk back to the hotel heartbroken and utterly alone.
I believe that A Farewell to Arms should not be banned because it portrays the true colors of war
and teaches how inglorious and unorganized it was contrary to the beliefs of the early 20th
century. In the early 20th century many people thought that war was a glorious, romantic, and
organized thing but as we know today this is not true at all. In an article written by Charles Oliver
he states The individual soldier is nearly always confused in battle and never sure of the outcome
until he hears about it later. (Oliver, 1). From this quote we can conclude that battle is not
organized like many people at the time believed. In fact, this quote shows that war is so
unorganized that nobody knows what is going on. Later on, in the article Oliver states that For
the soldier in the field, there are no rules, except to do whatever he can to stay alive. (Oliver, 3).
From this quote we can come to a few different conclusions, the first is that the front was not a place
of romance or glory, in fact it was a place of horror where every soldier was on his own fighting for
his life. The second is that war was not a glorious ritual of protecting the homeland like many
believed at the time, but that it was a chaotic mess of killing to stay alive. Lastly on page 68 Rinaldi

Past Tense In The Great Gatsby
The past tense can affect someone very much, and it makes it hard for a person to move on for
their present and future. It can be really significant for them, they keep on bringing the past back in
their lives, and do everything to bring it back. In this case, is presented by Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby.
Scott Fitzgerald constantly makes Gatsby to bring his pastwith Daisy Buchanan, and for her is the
reason why Jay Gatsby became a wealthy person. Jay Gatsby, came from a North Dakota. His
family were farmers. He joined the army. While he was in the army, he met Daisy and thought that
Daisy was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. For him she was really valuable
and special because he wasn t the only one who loved her, many men
Chavez Ravine
Years ago, there was once a small town called Chaves Ravine within Los Angeles, California and
this town was a poor rural community that was always full of life. Two hundred families, mostly
Chicano families, were living here quite peacefully until the Housing Act of 1949 was passed. The
Federal Housing Act of 1949 granted money to cities from the federal government to build public
housing projects for the low income. Los Angeles was one of the first cities to receive the funds for
project. Unfortunately, Chavez Ravine was one of the sites chosen for the housing project, so, to
prepare for the construction work of the low income apartments, the Housing Authority of Los
Angeles had to convince the people of the ravine to leave, or forcibly... Show more content on

Ravine continued to assault and attack Frank Wilkinson, the assistant director of the Housing

was being supported by the president and the U.S. government, they relentlessly continued to attack
and tarnish those in charge of the housing project and the idea of the project itself with television,
radio, and newspaper propaganda. Still, the project continued and Housing Authority sent notices to
the residents to coerce them and offer them money for the land; Frank Wilkinson also hired an

Chavez Ravine. One day, Frank Wilkinson was asked by a lawyer, What organizations, political
party, or otherwise have you belonged since nineteen hundred thirty one? Frank Wilkinson had
retorted by refusing to answer the question. To be accused of being a Communist is one of the worst
possible things back then because the United States was in the middle of the McCarthy Era, a time
when the U.S. was under tense anti Communist paranoia and suspicion. After refusing to answer the
questions, the program was essentially scrapped at that point and Frank Wilkinson was fired from
his job. After a lengthy court battle, Wilkinson s insist of the First Amendment s protection was

In order to live the good life, one must eliminate all pain and live a life with maximum pleasure.
Unlike other hedonist philosophers, Epicurus evaluated pleasures by their duration rather than their
intensity, making psychological pleasures much more desirable to physical pleasures. Epicurus, as a
consequentialist thought that in order to achieve the good life, one had to logically assess future
consequences of human actions through rational reflection and evaluation. If one were to rationally
reflect on death they would soon realise that there was nothing but oblivion after death (de Botton
2000, p. 59).
The Leading Doctrines of Epicurean philosophy state that it is impossible to live the pleasant life
without also living sensibly, nobly and justly, and conversely it is impossible to live sensibly,
nobly and justly without living pleasantly (Epicurus, 1998b, p.53). Therefore, the good Epicurean
believes in order to live virtuously, one must adhere to a pleasurable life. For Epicureans it is
impossible to live virtuously and unpleasantly or vice versa. In addition, Epicurus describes
pleasure as our primary native good (Epicurus 1998a, p. 51), implying that all human actions are
driven by pleasures and by the avoidance of pains. Another imperative concept to Epicurean
philosophy is Epicurus idea of the three fundamental aspects in attaining pleasure, those of
friendship, freedom and an analysed life
