Criticism Of Snow White
If the mirror is interpreted as the symbol of a husband, it might explain the literal absence of the
King in the story (Barzilai, 1990). It is possible that the Queen is fighting for the attention of her
husband. The growth of Snow White to become a more beautiful female than her mother means the
end of an era for the Queen. She is no longer a youthful lady, but a mother of a grown up daughter.
It is very common in patriarchal societies to view womanas mothers after a certain age. Giving birth
resonates with a distorted body image. Mothers carry the marks of birth giving and breastfeeding on
their bodies. They transform from a state of seductiveness to a mother. Their role is reduced to a
domestic caretaker for the children. It represents... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we apply this view to the story of Snow White, we can see how Queen is made to be an evil
female character. Before Snow White was born, the Queen did not have diabolic characteristics in
the text. She was a woman peacefully dreaming about having a beautiful daughter. She did not gain
the evil features attributed to her until after Snow White came to a certain age. At that point, Snow
White was declared as the new beauty by the mirror. In other words, patriarchal forces placed her
crown on her daughter. On the other hand, Gilbert and Gubar s view that the monster and the angel
might be in the same body, mean that the Queen and Snow White are one and the same personality.
It might be interpreted that the patriarchal system breaks them apart instead of letting them live in
harmony in the same house. When the whole breaks apart, one of them takes the monstrous side and
the other one takes the angelic side forming a binary
Osama Bin Laden As The Political Figure For My Project
I chose Osama Bin Laden as the political figure for my project because I have always wanted to
see the unbiased side of his story and that s exactly what I got from Michael Scheuer. People all
over the world saw Osama has the face of terrorism. People have to look past the mass murderer,
terrorist, and at times the most wanted man in the world. You have to look at him as the
intelligent person that he was. Osama for two decades was allowed to rebel, conducting a private
guerilla war against America. His goals were to get American troops out of Saudi Arabia, to
preserve the religious integrity of the Hijaz, and to punish America for supporting Israel and
hope that Israel could cease to exist and its Jews scrubbed from the Holy Land. The greatest
impact Bin Laden had on America were the attacks on 9/11 which was when he and Al Qaeda
successfully hijacked four commercial aircrafts, two crashed into the World Trade Center (Twin
Towers). The third crashed into the pentagon in Arlington Virginia, and the fourth was successfully
retaken by the passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The people of America wanted to
know what could cause someone to do these gruesome acts. Michael Scheuer really helped show
his childhood. Osama wasn t always a terrorist, he was a innocent child. He was an outstanding
student at Al Thagher. Correspondingly, he received an invitation to join a islamic study group in
hope to receive extra credit. He and other Jedda family members joined
Essay about American Influences of Walt Whitman
American Influences of Walt Whitman

In his poems and life, Walt Whitman celebrated the human spirit and the human body. He sang the
praises of democracy and marveled at the technological advances of his era. His direct poetic style
shocked many of his contemporaries. This style, for which Whitman is famous, is in direct relation
to several major American cultural developments. The development of American dictionaries, the
growth of baseball, the evolution of Native American policy, and the development of photography all
played a part and became essential components of Whitman s poetry.

Walt Whitman was an avid reader of dictionaries, which he realized were the compost heap of all
English language literature. It was the place ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was then that the first recognizable baseball rules were set down in writing. As baseball was born,
it immediately was bound up in Whitman s mind with qualities he would endorse his whole life:
vigor, manliness, and al fresco health.

In 1855, when Whitman s Song of Myself was first printed, baseball was still very new. It was
clearly one of the distinctive elements of the American experience that Whitman found worth
absorbing into the song of himself, even though the term baseball had not yet made its way into the
dictionaries. At various times over the years, Whitman would extol many other sports, but there was
only one sport he would return to throughout his life, and that was baseball. To him, baseball was an
activity with its own built in localized slang, and its own essential connections to American culture; a
game conceived, developed, and originally played only in the United States of America. Clearly for
Whitman, baseball was the sport that coincided with the best aspects of the American character. In it
he saw the emergence of national sport one that had a rhythm and movement distinctly American. In
this game, he saw the possibilities for democratic crowds and brotherhood that he would celebrate in
his poetry (Folsom 30 53).

Three days before Whitman s eleventh birthday, Congress passed the Indian Removal Bill. Andrew
Jackson, the president who was a

The Metamorphosis of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas...
A Christmas Carol, a tale that revolves around a man s fate in the past, the present, and the future.
Its story speaks of a man, a man called Ebenezer Scrooge, and the changes in which he goes through.

Oh! But he was tight fisted man at the grindstone, Scrooge! a squeezing, wrenching, grasping,
scraping, covetous old sinner! Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out
generous fire; secret, and self contained, and solitary as an oyster. The cold within him froze his
old features, nipped his pointed nose, shrivelled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his
thin lips blue; and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice. A frosty rime was on his head, and on
his eyebrows, and his wiry chin. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cold within him froze his old features. I believe that this description shows that
Scrooge is unbelievably cold hearted, even unrealistically so: No wind blew bitterer than he, no
falling snow more intent upon its purpose, no pelting rain less open to entreaty. Foul weather didn t
know where to have him. This description displays that not even the weather has an effect on him, it
is also apparent that Scrooge s personality was worse than any weather, he was bitterer than any
blizzard colder than any rainfall.

Scrooge s attitude to others is terrible, he is not at all courteous to anyone he meets. He is

especially horrible to his clerk, Bob
Cratchit who he pays terribly. He does not allow Mr.Cratchit to have any time off work during the
year, except Christmas day: (Which he does very bitterly and reluctantly) ...a squeezing, wrenching,
grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner! I believe that this description displays
Scrooge making his clerk work tirelessly for long hours all through the year, and permitting him to
have one day off. Trying to get him work incredibly hard for every penny Scrooge parts with. There
is another example of this quote, with Scrooge s clerk s fireplace. A single coal is all Scrooge is

The Painting Of The Secret By Jackson Pollock Is Good Art
Art is much more than throwing paint on a canvas, and saying here is a painting worth millions.
Art takes time. Paintings and thing like such requires time for the process of thinking and
creating each piece of work. Art also requires patience. When creating beautiful pieces of art, the
artist needs to be able to have patience while working. Art is not just something anyone can do.
Art requires much time and patience to be considered good art. The painting Guardians of the
Secret by Jackson Pollock is good art. Good art involves taking a lot of time to prepare and actually
do the work. To create a pieceof art that is good, the artist must take time to prepare an image of
what he or she wants to paint or make. On top of the time to prepare, the artist must take time to
actually create the piece of art as well. The time it takes to prepare may or may not be as long as
the time to create the piece of art is. However, the time spent on preparing and actually doing can be
seen in the actual art. Time is very important when considering a painting or any piece of art. A
home owner looking to add art to his or her house will want something that an artist has spent a
significant amount of time on. People are very concerned with how much time the artist spends on
his or her painting. The Guardians of the Secret shows the artist, Jackson Pollock, has spent a
significant amount of time on this painting. The painting has little details to it that requires more
time then what a

Film Analysis of King Kong Produced by Merian C. Cooper

A classic adventure fantasy film in the earlier talking films is King Kong (1933). King

Kong was conceived by director/producer Merian C. Cooper. Cooper tells the story of an attractive
blonde woman and a frightening gigantic ape monster who are immersed in a Beauty and the Beast
type tale. A major section of the film is the struggle on Skull Island between the filmmakers, the
islanders, and the other resident of the island. The other resident being a mutant creature who must
also fight civilization when it is brought to New York City for display. From the beginning of the
movie, its screenplay by James Creelman and Ruth Rose foretells the coming terror. The film ...

The film industry was changed quiet a bit from this motion picture.

The acting and directing of the film King Kong was magnificent. In the film there are no
particular weak performances. Everyone gives a rather enjoyable performance during the movie.
In watching the movie I found that as it went on I just could not wait to see what would happen
next, which shows the wonderful pace of the film. The director presents the beast in a way that is
tragic. Towards the end of the picture you start to sympathize with the beast that is trapped upon the
top of the building being fired upon by planes from above. As a director, having the skill to pull
these emotions over a beast from an audience is astonishing.

The people who assembled this movie did a wonderful job. There was a great amount of thought
put into the production of this film. The composition of the picture is one that should be
remembered by filmmakers of today. The scenes on the ship and on the island look as if they
really take place there and not on a sound stage or on the back lot. The motion picture tells a tale
which is believable because it is one of a man going to a strange island to shot a movie to gain
wealth in America. Having hired the help of a beautiful young woman, he runs upon trouble while
switching from one interesting scene to another. In the picture the beautiful Fay Ray is as stunning
today as she was when the picture was first
