How Did The Roman Economy Affect The Provinces
Roman Economy and the Provinces Roman provinces had several effects on the Roman economy.
The provinces allowed for regular imports of grains, trades of exotic goods, monetary tributes, and
importation of slaves. These factors helped fuel and strength the Roman economy. Grain was an
important part of everyday life, and Rome relied heavily on the provinces to supply the needed
amount of grain. The need to secure grain providing provinces was one of many important factors
that would lead to the expansion and conquests of the Roman State. (UNRV., n.d.). One of the many
reasons for the Roman conquests in the first place was to secure grain supplies. The provinces
would supply grains to Rome at a lower price than Roman grain,... Show more content on

Many of the imports that the provinces supplied were considered high grade. For example, wine
from Eygpt was considered to be the best, olive oil from southern Spain was a luxury, and silk
from India would have been an item only the rich could afford (Cartwright, M., 2013, December
17). The provinces would also have provided items such as spices, pottery, ivory, and terracotta.
Importations of the exotic items would have impacted the Roman economy by raising the values
of those items. Olive oil would have been more expensive because it would have a higher value.
Slaves and tributes benefited the Roman economy by allowing for cheap labour and by providing
money for the Roman treasury (Wasson, D., 2015, November 29). Slavery impacted the Roman
economy via cheap human labour resources and slaves markets. Monterary tributes filled the
Roman treasury, allowed for Roman buildings, and pay for individuals holding public office.
Conclusion; The Roman economy was fueled by many factors, both foreign and domestic. It had
multiple avenues for income, from imports to exports, from taxes to tributes. There was also many
forms of labour available, allowing for competitiveness in the job market. The economy of Rome
had various factors impacting it, and each one needs to be considered when trying to see how they
collectively impacted
Barbie s Body Image And Its Negative Impact On Young Girls
Introduction
Barbie is one of the best selling dolls in the world. This doll often resembles role models to young
girls. What girl hasn t had a Barbie doll in their lifetime? It is not unusual that at least 99% of girls
in the population have or has had a Barbie. The main concern is with young girls up to the age of
10, with the idea image that Barbie provokes to these young minds. It gives the idea you have to be
thin to be beautiful. Although, the thinness often resembles being unhealthy. The ultrathin image
that Barbie contributes to these young minds is a negative body image and unhealthy eating
patterns (Dittmar, Halliwell, Ive, 2006). In an exposure experiment three main questions were
addressed: Do images of Barbie have an immediate negative impact on girls body image? Does
exposure to images of a doll with more realistic body proportions result in the same detrimental
effects? Is the impact of exposure to Barbie images age related so that effects differ depending on
school year group (grade level)? (Dittmar, Halliwell, Ive, 2006, p. 283). These questions were used to
further evaluate the effects that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It decreased self esteem and body satisfaction making girls have a desire to want to be thinner.
Interestingly, the Emme doll who is a plus size doll didn t have an opposite effect and make girls
want to be bigger. There was no difference with the Emme doll. The early exposure often caused
more damaging direct effects of decrease eating habits than those older. The impact Barbie had
towards the girls age 6 and a half and older was much smaller. Even though the older girls see
Barbie doll as the ideal body image for girls their age the fact of being a role model ends around
age 7. They eventually move on to sociocultural images seen in the media. Although those characters
often have an ultrathin body like Barbie as
Hindenburg Disaster Essay
In just 34 seconds, the lives of 36 people were lost on May 6, 1937. The airship had over 97 seven
people aboard the when it burst into a ball of flames(The). Many people have theories as to why
the airship went down. Some say two of the four engines failed to maintain power. Others argue
back that a hydrogen leak was the culprit.(Found) Some even say that static electricity could have
played a role in this tragedy. Despite the fact that the Hindenburg went up in flames, it is still
considered the largest airship ever built and has impacted the way we use transportation by air
today. (The) The demand for faster transportation was the main inspiration for building the
Hindenburg. German Nazis used the airship as their main transportation. They also planned to use
the airship to blast political music from the speakers and drop political flyers over cities. The
German Nazis did this for a while, but soon opened up the airship to the public in March 1936

History.com). Air travel was popular for quite a few years before the Hindenburg disaster. Air travel
came to an abrupt stop for many years after the airship went down. Airship accidents were not
exactly foreign, but the disaster of the Hindenburg seemed to have a deeper effect on people
(Found). The disaster caused Germany to ground their hydrogen filled airships after the crash.
Within the next ten years, the airplane was put into use. Since the crash of the Hindenburg,
engineers have been able to create more economic and safe planes. While airships may not be
popular in today s time the disaster of the Hindenburg has taught aviation officials many techniques
on how to create a reliable and safe way by which people can travel by air today.
The Outbreak of the Spanish Civil War Essay
The Outbreak of the Spanish Civil War

To this day the Spanish Civil War is still remembered as the single most pivotal moment in the
history of Spanish politics. The only way of understanding how 600,000 Spaniards were killed
between 1936 and 1939 is to ask ourselves why the civil war broke out in Spain in 1936. There were
a number of reasons which led to the civil war in Spain. The main and most significant being the
increased political polarization between the left and right wing parties.

This polarization primarily began within Spanish society, which had been characterized by its strong
religious beliefs and conservative values, as it remained a strict Roman Catholic country for many ...

On the other hand, was the conservative nationalists represented by the Church, the army and many
large landowners and industrialists. Most of which wanted Spain to return to the Golden Ages of
sixteenth century Catholic Spain and were in favour of the Monarchy in order to remain an
authoritarian state. This division was highlighted further by a number of pronunciamientos[6] and
uprisings between the two sides adding to the increased political tension.

For the right, they saw the defence of religious interests as their fundamental political task. [7]
Whereas, the liberals reflected the increasingly anti Catholic feeling throughout Spain. Therefore, it
can be understood why the liberal views on the Church, and its policies within the second republic to
reduce the Church s power, angered the right wing parties enough for them to retaliate through a
number of uprisings throughout Spain. Especially during the declaration of the second republic
stating that Spain no longer possessed an official religion.

During the constitutional monarchy of Alfonso CIII, the left was frustrated by the farce of the
electoral system[8], which up until the second republic was formed on the 14th April 1931,
remained in favour of local bosses, also given
The Dehumanization Of The Jews
Adolf Hitler had a plan to exterminate all European Jews. There was approximately 9.5 millions
Jews living in Europe in 1933. On January 30, 1933 Hitler started his extermination by rounding
up all European Jews and sending them to concentration camps. Hitler believed the Jews were
responsible for the lost of World War 1. Even though the Jews had nothing to do with the lost of
World War I, Hitler wanted to make them pay. Dehumanization is the process of depriving someone
of human qualities and attributes. The dehumanization process the SS officers enforced on the Jews
left many of them dead or silent if they survived. At the concentration camps, they were to be
stripped of all identification. By the time the concentration camps were liberated in 1945, over 6
million European Jews were killed inhumanely. Elie Wiesel, who was a survivor of the Holocaust,
recalls the horrific experiences he and his fellow Jews had to go through in his book Night. Before
the Jews were killed, the SS officers dehumanized the Jews by making them suffer through violence,
humiliation, and horrible living conditions. Those horrific experiences made Wiesel speak up for the
voiceless, and to make sure the Holocaust was not forgotten.
Hitler did not kill the Jews as soon as they got to the camps. He wanted to break them down and
make them suffer before he killed them. Each Jew had to pass the inspection test performed by
Dr. Josef Mengele, who was known as the Angel of Death. In order for Elie and his father to pass
selection they had to lie to the doctor about their age. Without his father lying, he would have
been sent to the crematoria. Elie states that It was imperative that we stay together. Neither Elie
nor his father knew that they would never see Tzipora or Mrs. Wiesel again. Elie now lived for
his father. During selection, the Jews had to state their name and their profession. Elie lied and said
he was eighteen, in good health, and a farmer. After they had been inspected, they were either
directed to the left or to the right. If they were not strong enough or young enough, they were
immediately sent to the crematoria. The Jews had no idea if they were going to be sent to the
barracks or straight to the crematoria. The

management that reduce the amount of municipal solid waste that ends up incinerated or disposed

of disposal space. Challenges resulting from urban population growth and rising consumption of
products since the Industrial Revolution began in Western Europe to the present. Municipal solid
