Ashoka Research Paper
Did you know that India s ruler Ashoka was a cruel leader, but turned into a Peaceful kind ruler
afterwards? When Ashoka was first ruling he was following into his grandfather s steps with using
force to rule, but figured out it was not the best so he changed into a Peaceful ruler. Ashoka s
leadership style was more effective for Ancient Indiabecause he encouraged Buddhism, and Peaceful
empire/life for his people. When Ashoka wanted a Peaceful kingdom he joined the religion called
Buddhism.

As Ashoka ruled he would influence the religion Buddhism because it was a kind way to live. He
encouraged Buddhism to all his people because he didn t want war or people harming other living
things in his empire. Some evidence I found on a website called Ashoka. Ancient History
Encyclopedia, www.ancient.eu/Ashoka/ to support this reason is Ashoka turned Buddhism into a
state religion and encouraged Buddhist missionary activity(Ashoka). This shows how much he tried
for Peace in his empire and influenced the religion in the empire. Ashoka did accept Buddhism, but
he had other things in his kingdom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a war Ashoka was in he realized it caused many people harm, and that s when he decided he

the site Sen, Amulya Chandra. Ashoka 2. Encyclopædia Britannica, Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc.,
18 July 2017, www.britannica.com/biography/Ashoka that states he exhorted them to respect the
creeds of other, praise the good points of others, and refrain from vehement adverse criticism of the

where people weren t trying to kill or harm each other. Most people may think that Ashoka may have
had a Peaceful leadership style that was best, but some people don t think
Bottlenose Dolphin
A Bottlenose dolphin has very many actions, like cute, funny or even playful. Dolphins are so
adorable they love to play. Dolphins are very playful and love to meet people. Sometimes they even
will play jokes cause they re so sweet. Dolphins have diets, like squid, fish, and crustaceans.Dolphins
are commonly seen in aquariums, sea parks, TV shows, and movies, the bottlenose dolphinis a wildly
recognizable cetacean (marine mammal). In the wild, bottlenose dolphins inhabit the temperate and
tropical oceans around the world with coastal populations entering into bays, estuaries, and river
mouths. Like the name bottlenose suggests, this species of dolphin has a short, stubby beak. Its
sleek, conical body varies in color from a light to slate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have a thick layer of blubber which helps them maintain their body heat and protects them
from predators such as killer whales and large sharks. They have sensitive, smooth skin that flakes
off and gets replaced every few hours.
Despite the fact that they live underwater and can hold their breath for up to 7 minutes, dolphins
must come to the surface to breathe air. A muscular flap covers their blowhole while underwater and
opens to exhale once they reach the surface. Dolphins can exhale air at 160 km/hr (100 mph). When
they inhale, they can exchange up to 80% of the contents of their lungs. Humans, by comparison,
only exchange 17% of the air in their lungs when they breathe.
Dolphins aren t involuntary breathers like humans. They must consciously swim to the surface to
take a breath. This means they can never fully sleep. One side of their brain must always be active
so that they remember to breathe. Although they have little to no sense of smell, bottlenose dolphins
have other well developed sensory

Cognitive Dissonance Theory Of Smoking
Growing up I was never one for exercising let only eating healthy. Bad habits don t die easily and
soon enough as I got older they took their toll on my body. As grew not only vertically but
horizontally instead of changing my habits I only continued them. I merely changed the way I
looked at the problem by embracing the love for my naturally curves instead. Despite not only the
public looking down on hefty women but with the further disapproval of my family that the
dissonance began to weigh more. Things only progressively got worst when I was medically
diagnosed with mild obesity. It was only then that the cognitive dissonancemade me begin to change
my behavior. Cognitive dissonance theory explains the contradictions we have with our behaviors
and beliefs but it can also be used to get us to have positive behaviors.
Cognitive dissonance theory was created by Leon Festinger and to better explain his theory he used
the topic of smoking. He showed how the contradiction is so clear and uncomfortable that
something has to give either the use of cigarettes of the belief that smoking will [harm] (Griffin et
al., 2015, p.201). Cognitive dissonance in a nutshell is a contradiction that causes us stress. It is
when we act in ways that go against what we believe and the strong presence we have on the
matter the greater the stress we have. Festinger (2015) describe it the distressing mental state one
feels when one finds themselves doing things that don t fit with what we believe or what the public
approves of (p.200). An extreme example of this is the high one gets from taking drugs but the
disapproval the community might have for it. With dissonance creating a stressful mental state we
naturally want to avoid it by either change our behaviors or our beliefs.
Cognitive dissonance can have either positive effects or negative ones on a person s being. In the
Glatz, Stattin, Kerr study they considered the health and behavior of parents who find their youths
drinking. Generally underage drinking is looked down upon in the community and even in the eyes
of the law but studies have shown that parents reduce control and support in response to youths
drinking (Glatz, Stattin, Kerr, 2012, p. 629). Glatz et al
Cause And Effect Of Japanese Attack On Pearl Harbor
Pearl harbor started December 7, 1941 on a sunday morning in honolulu, hawaii that day japanese
planes attacked U.S. naval base at pearl harbor. They attacked when it was least unexpected they
destroyed more than 200 ships, the bombing killed more than 2,400 people, and 2403 sailors and
1,000 wounded. franklin roosevelt called december 7, 1941, that day they will live in infamy and he
declared war on japan.
The attack on pearl harbor was a surprise, but japan and the united states have been waiting for the
war to happen for years. The united states was unhappy with japanese because of their least
unexpected attack, so the japanese government thought that the only way to solve their problems
was to expand into its neighbors territory and
Disadvantages Of Window Display
A window display is one of the key elements in visual merchandising that bring in the new and the
existing customers. It allows the brand to display new arrivals, the promotional and best selling
products. It also allows consumer to interpret the brand s image and style direction through the
window display. A visually stimulating and realistic window display will most likely to influence
customers purchase decisions on the go. The smart way is to create different based on inspirations
such as apparel collections as it makes it more relatable.

Window display also has great impacts on the brand s reputation too! For example, Harrods
Christmas displays have never lacked luxury and classiness. Every year, the windows have
fascinating and interesting themes that are executed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of Whispering Windows system, a third party consultant has videoed the reactions of
passersby to this new technology on a window display. The video showed the dramatic difference
in consumers response to the window as it music is being played vs. no audio displays. Passersby
were intrigued by the music infused display and the department store sales have a drastic increase of
over 40%.

As the saying goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul. If so, the poorly implemented window
displays definitely does not have the eyes to the soul.

Unfortunately, many brands neglect the importance of design, update, and showcase or even put in
effort to build a window display. In most cases, the window displays of some brands appear to be
too practical and hard sell, and lacks the element of design and emotional connection.

In additional, brands without a team of professional visual merchandiser/artist have to resort to self
composing. Without the expertise of the professionals, most likely the window display does not go
in line with its brand image and will now convey the exact brand s message to its potential
Reflection Paper On Worldview
An individual s world view is described as, A pair of glasses though which we look at the world
around us. (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 1998, p.7). Our world view is our perspective
of the world around us, which is where we get the understanding of how to live in it. Our purpose
in life comes in our worldview. Our worldviews are the foundation of our lives, it determines what
we value and what we live for. One s worldview does not have to be in reality as long as it is their
reality. Someone s world view is their personal truth. For example, if someone believes that the
world is flat, that is their truth, making it their worldview. In that case that is also literally how they
see the world. Personally, I have a theistic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We were not created by a divine being, we are a product of evolution. Truth comes from science,
things we understand and that can be explained. One of the most common groups in naturalism is
the atheist. The atheist has determined that there is no God, the Bible is all false. Another group
is the agnostics, they do not know if there is a God. There is no sufficient evidence to prove that
he does or does not exist. The agnostic is open to both possibilities. I personally cannot imagine
living a life in such doubt. They might consider themselves in the middle but God will not accept
someone into the Kingdom unless they have personally accepted him. The Secularist is opposed to
religion interfering with the state. They believe that the state has shown favoritism to religion.
Secularist do not want religion to interfere with the affairs of the state and they do not want the
state to interfere with religion. This group is very involved in politics, all of this mainly takes
place in the United Kingdom. Not all secularist is naturalist but the overwhelming majority of them
are. Naturalism brings up more questions than it provides answers. Where do the naturalist get
their morals? For them morals are created by you, it seems like there is less accountability. If a
theist does something wrong they know that there is always a God watching. For a naturalist there
is no one to see all the wrong that they do in secret, so what is the reason to stop? Naturalist cannot

Sydney Carton Ambiguity
Tale of Two Cities

Charles Dickens, a meticulous British novelist, imposes ambiguity in the personalities of Sydney
Carton, Madame Defarge, and Ernest Defarge to reveal the preeminent theme of his novel that
people are dynamic. Sydney Carton is an extremely ambiguous character in The Tale of Two
Cites. Sydney Carton transforms from debauchery to admirable. At first, Carton is a drunkard,
and he is willing to help out C.J. Stryver at any time of day. Carton made Stryver, one of most
respected lawyers in London, a brilliant and popular lawyer. Drinking and helping Stryver out
keeps him from internally beating himself up. Carton feels worthless and unlovable. Charles
stated to Mr. Lorry after his trial, I hardly seem yet... to belong in this world again (2. 4. 83).
Carton is in the dumps and feels no hope whatsoever. Sydney Carton has nobody to love or care for
at this point in the novel; he selfishly wishes he were imprisoned. Dickens leads us to believe there is
no hope for Carton, but then Lucie comes into the picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Lucie keeps her head high and is always lending a helping hand. Carton admires all of Lucie s
characteristics, so he decides to proclaim his love to her. Dickens is showing us how a man can
change so drastically with Carton. Before Carton met Lucie, he claimed, I am a disappointed
drudge, sir. I care for no man on earth, and no man on earth cares for me (2.4.70). Lucie has given
Carton a reason to live but not in the way the reader was hoping for. He promises Lucie he will
take his own life to save Lucie s life and every soul she loves. This promise was unexpected from
egotistical Carton. When Darnay is sentenced to death, Carton takes his place, ultimately saving
Darnay s life, and keeping his promise to Lucie. Dickens convinces the readers that individuals are
capable of changing, in Carton s case from self centered to
Reflection On Technology And Technology
Since I have been learning more about technology and taking online classes, my neighbor has
enlisted me in helping to improve her business. Ruth is my seventy year old neighbor, who is
hoping to update some of her technological devices as well as use technology to organize financial
data of the business. The thought of learning about new technologyscares her and she trusts me to be
able to point her in the right direction. Currently, Ruth runs a greenhouse where she sells flowers and
some vegetables.
The first thing Ruth shows me is her computer. She is utilizing her computer as permanent storage
for pertinent banking documents that she has acquired over the years. She uses her computer to
research new popular plant species to cultivate for the season and see what her competitors are
offering. Right away, I can tell that her computer is outdated. She even mentions that her computer
is from the early 2000 s. By technology standards, her computer is ancient. She complains that her
computer is slow and will often freeze. With a faster computer and updated software, she will be
able to expedite her normal tasks executed on the computer. She also mentions some issues with her
keyboard and monitor that serve as peripheral devices connected to her computer. Ruth says that the
monitor screen will turn black when she is in the middle of something and that she will have to hit
the monitor a couple of times to make the screen light up again. I noticed that her video cable is old

What kind of forecasting methods do you think a company with the following products would use.
For each product take up a company of your choice and justify the use of particular forecasting
method for that company.

Answer: Forecasting is based on a number of assumptions:

1. The past will repeat itself. 2. As the forecast horizon shortens, forecast accuracy increases. 3.
Forecasting in the aggregate is more accurate than forecasting individual items. 4. Forecasts are
seldom accurate.

Moving average will not give an accurate prediction for other less established products, as it gives
recent data more importance. A product like Colgate tooth paste which has established itself over
the years can afford to adopt Moving Average Technique to arrive at a quick forecast, as the input

decisions the suggested method is Exponential Smoothing.| Laptop| Dell| Comparison of the
performance of a similar successful product and research on why a particular brand fared poor
