selling to india Essay
Selling into India: Lessons From Silvio Napoli No amount of process re definition could have
saved Schindler the pains associated with attempting to move into India with a low cost strategy.
Fundamental assumptions about India just wanting low cost elevators where customization wasn t
a requirement took the effort of creating a subsidiary to learn from. For the last four years I ve
been teaching an international business course occasionally for a local MBA Program. My
students are all working professionals who come to class for discussion and debate, not sermons.
Case studies are the perfect teaching tool for this audience; there is plenty of room for debate and

China is a tough sell. Silvio relayed how the lessons learned in India are useful for selling into
China; yet he says the effort required is significantly greater than getting sales in India once
Schindler began customizing its elevators. He says there are successes in China but he thinks
companies are thinking it s much more painless than it really is. Don t take the alliance between
India and China lightly. Silvio sees this development as fundamentally re defining the region and
having global impact very quickly. An excellent analysis of the strategic impact of this relationship
has been written by Jairam Ramesh, a member of the Indian parliament, in the April 18th edition of
the Wall Street Journal. The article is here, and you ll need Wall Street Journal online access to
retrieve it. You can find Jairam s Web site here. There s another very good article on this alliance
written by Paul McDougall of Information Week here. Bottom line: No amount of process re
definition could have saved Schindler the pains associated with attempting to move into India with a
low cost strategy. Fundamental assumptions about India just wanting low cost elevators where
customization wasn t a requirement took the effort of creating a subsidiary to learn from. One of my
best students put together this final presentation of his research. If you re interested you can get the

The Book Of Job Is A Problematic Piece Of Wisdom Literature
The Book of Job is a problematic piece of wisdom literature in that it presents a man blameless and
upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil, (Job 1:1) and proceeds to destroy him in
the face of God. God boasts about Job s exemplary behavior as a loyal servant to a gathering of his
sons. When the Adversary, who stood among Gods sons, wagers that Job would curse God if his
possessions were decimated, God allows the Adversary to annihilate all that belongs to Job,
including his servants and his children. When Job does not curse God, God allows the Adversary to
further Job s sufferingby allowing Job to be inflicted with grotesque and painful sores all over his
body. It is then that Job struggles with the relationship between man and God; it seems to Job that
the innocent suffer overwhelmingly while the wicked prosper, and God allows this to happen.
What is significant about Job s suffering is the fact that we can confidently state that it was
undeserved. While it may have been acceptable for a sinner to be punished by God, it seems
unjust, and even cruel, for God to allow Job to suffer so greatly, despite Job s unparalleled faith and
respect for God. Throughout adaptations and translations of the Book of Job, Job sustains character
modifications, some minute, some significant, that accordingly impact the message of the story. For
every characteristic of Job that is modified, a new aspect of the story of Job is explored.

Essay on The Dream
The Dream
In the early twentieth century, film maker and producer Adolph Zukor met Jesse Lasky, owner of
Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company. The two men admired each others previous work and, in
1916, decided to combine forces. They created Paramount pictures and had one of the most familiar
slogans in the film industry, If it s a Paramount Picture it s the Best Show in Town . Proving their
slogan true they started turning out more than two pictures per week. During it s peak in the silent
film making era, Paramount was making 5 million dollars a year more than other production
companies such as Warner, Fox, and Universal.(Paramount)

Entertainment is not all Paramount has provided for the telecommunications and film industry.
Since the company began, the decisions it has made have influenced others in the industry. Even
though they may not have always been the most profitable movie making company, they have
always been interested in broadening their horizons, and the sky was the limit. Not long after
Paramount was created Zukor decided to maintain his company s supremacy in the industry. He
began a theater buying campaign that amassed single houses and entire circuits... By 1930, the firm

hundreds of award winning quality movies to view. Paramount has also contributed to the
competitive aspect of the movie industry, forcing actors and directors to do their best work. Stated

Why Was Marilyn Monroe Conspiracy
Remembered as the elegant blond red lipped bombshell iconic singer, actress and sex symbol of
the 1950s. Her talent and legacy is still carried on by her highly legendary pop painting by Andy
Warhol and influential flying skirt photos. But some remember her tragic death the most. Her
name was Marilyn Monroe. She was only 36 when she was found face down dead in her Los
Angeles home on August 5th 1962. The official coronas report stated that Hollywood s face had
gone through a probable suicide by swallowing 40 barbiturates which caused her stomach line to

It was not worded out to the public but almost everyone knew for certain that Marilyn had affairs
with both John and Robert Kennedy. Apparently Robert Kennedy told Marilyn that he would
never marry her this brought deep depression into Marilyn s life which lead to her threatening to
come out with the affairs with him and his brother which she had kept track in a diary. The
Kennedy s repeatedly demanded Marilyn to live them alone and give in her diary which Marilyn
denied to do. Robert felt dethroned and anguished so he told Greenson who apparently also had
an affair with Marilyn that she was going to tell the public about their affair as well. Greenson
didn t want his reputation to fade so he agreed to help Robert. Then moments later the pair who
was accompanied by two body guards and Peter Lawford barged into Marilyn s house. Marilyn
was unable to defend herself since one of the guards had injected nembutal to calm her down this
however made her collapse on the floor. One bodyguard tore her clothes then injected an enema to
stage out a suicide. While the other men scattered across her house in order to find her diary. Later

Web And Content Management Systems
What is WordPress?
It seems that the internet is filled with blogs. That s not an observation, it s a fact. Wherever we
look on the web, we find blogs about everything from AA meetings, to taking the drug Zytiga. For
most people, starting a blog is a daunting process. Without knowledge of HTML and CSS it would
seem impossible, and for the average person, that used to be true. That is until the creation of self
publishing/content management systems(CMS) like WordPress (WP). WP was originally created as
new blogging platform in 2003. It was based on an older, and soon to be defunct, platform called
b2/cafelog. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were the founding developers of WP and sought to
take on the platform leader Moveable Type. Now WP powers around 20% of all websites. These
aren t just personal blogs, but corporate news and business sites as well. What makes WP
desirable to is the cost, and ease of use. WP is open source, so the software is free to use with any
hosting providers (as of 2017 only providers that offer an SSL will be able to offer WP with their
hosting). Ease of use comes in the form of using the dashboard to publish content, and style the
website. This is ideal for someone that has no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Giving this
kind of usability to everyone, makes it possible for the average user to make a place for themselves
on the web.
How does WordPress create a webpage? Now that we know a little about what WP is, we need to
understand how it
Southern Cassowary In Australia
Habitat:
The most common habitat that the Southern Cassowary is located in, is tropical rainforests. This is
because it requires an abundance of fleshy fruit for nutrition and ease of access to these fruits. More
necessities for habitation include steady water supply and shelter, and locations available for nesting.
These three contributors as well as other minorities are the reason that the Southern Cassowary lives
in this sort of environment. Further studies show that Cassowaries are more abundant in arears of
flat terrain and a permanent supply of water. This also accounts for the fact that they live in areas
that contain dense vegetation like woodlands and shrubbery.

VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY
The main process that was used to ensure the validity of the information in this assessment and the
reliability was to firstly check the basis for all sites. For example, if the site was a .ORG or .GOV
etc. This infers that the information came from an educational or government source, which most
have to be approved to be put up as a webpage.
Another process was going to different sites and Fact Checking . That is , going to different
websites and ensuring that at least 3 had the same fact or basis for a fact as was required.
Another way that was used in this assessment was getting the information needed from more than
one source. This follows on from the previous statement and strengthens the validity of the
information provided. This means that instead of just using a singular website or book, multiple
were used to ensure that the facts and information were widespread and accurate
Dr Faustus Essay
Him, Himself, and Faustus Status and recognition what means an individual is willing to surpass to
achieve those ends is evident in Western society s praise of celebrities and their fame, whilst
trivializing tragic events and those responsible with talking points. For some, it does not matter how
their name is recognized in history or discussed by those who know them, but that their name is
merely spoken of at all. Surely then, a society which rewards individuals for their infamous,
grotesque acts with recognition, and then fails to effectively address the issue at hand, might find
that such incidents occur more and more frequently. The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus (A text)

This drive is seen time and time again throughout both texts: from conjuring the spirit of Alexander
the Great for Emperor Charles V (4.1.63 4; 4.1.99 101), to producing ripe grapes when not in
season for the Duke of Vanholt and the pregnant Duchess (4.2.12 7; 4.6.19 23). Clearly, this drive is
best demonstrated through Faustus himself when asked by his fellow scholars to summon Helen of
Troy in the B text:
Gentlemen, for that I know your friendship is unfeigned,
It is not Faustus custom to deny
The just request of those that wish him well.
You shall behold that peerless dame of Greece (5.1.18 21). Faustus strong desire to impress others
doubtlessly derives from his fear of being rejected by those of high stature in society; he wishes to
belong with them and not from whence he came. Furthermore, Stephen Orgel notes in Magic and
Power in Doctor Faustus , that although Faustus has unlimited power, he only conjures what is
asked of him, never striving beyond or testing his boundaries, and that this represents two major
flaws within Faustus: an artistic failure of imagination and a scholarly failure of originality (396).
Both failures stem from Faustus only doing what he is told, merely fulfilling what is asked of him,
so that he may, for a while, share their acclaim and status. If Faustus were truly empowered or
secure in his own abilities,
Haircut Saga Case Study
Delving into the Trinity Grammar haircut saga, during the crisis phase, there are several concerns
which enraged the stakeholders, namely the School Council s decision to sack Brown, its passive
attitude, and empty promises. While the trigger event was unstable, the suddenness and negativity
impacted attribution. Using the three attribution dimension, the Trinity Grammar haircut saga dons a
high personal control, low external control, and a locus in the actor which could strengthen the
perception of intentional actions by the School Council (Coombs 2004, p. 268). To interpret the
situation, crisis communicators should resort to the assessment of crisis type in order to correctly
specify the emphasis of evaluation (Druckman, cited in Coombs 2004, p. 269). Brown s dismissal

In terms of crisis history, Trinity Grammar has no identical cases that have reached the same scale
of the haircut saga in the past. However, the alarming staff turnover rate of over 150 teaching and

How Did Latin America Change Over Time
Latin America has a long and complex history. From the early 1500s to 1888 there have been many
political changes (foreign control, political ideology, slavery) and some continuities (central control),
but the changes have had a greater effect because independent nations were able to establish
themselves and form their own governments. Globally, the European Industrial Revolution was
taking place which allowed for a political advantage because the new technologies could give the
European governments stronger control over their colonies.
The end of foreign control over various territories in Latin America has been a major change in this
region s history. For many decades the colony of Saint Domingue was under French control and
used to produce various agricultural products. It was home to over a half million slaves that worked
on the 8,000 sugar and coffee plantations. This changed when in the late 18th century a slave
revolution took place led by the former slave Toussaint L ouverture. By the end of the revolt French
rule had been ended and the newly named Haiti had become independent. This ending of foreign
control was stimulated by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally the political ideology held by European government leaders was conservative and
authoritarian. This was because the European governments that exercised control over the colonies
feared the possibility of revolution and wanted the colonies to stay under their control. This
changed as new political leaders such as Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin gained support
from the general population. These revolutionary leaders held ideas inspired by the enlightenment
ideas from Europe. The liberal ideas held by Spanish revolutionary leaders were an important
change because they helped to motivate working class people to engage in governmental reform.
These ideas became more mainstream once independence from the colonizers was

Authority and the Individual Essay
Authority is necessary for law and order; however, individuals are bound to challenge their privileges
if oppressive rule restricts freedom and obstructs justice. Victimised individual s constant rebellion is
born from authority s oppressive control. To undermine independence, autocratic organisations use
manipulation to force individuals to disregard personal safety and yield to conformities, thus it is a
rarity for opposition. An individual s noncompliance to authoritative measures is explored in the film

Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell is a dystopian novel that follows the life of the
unconventional Winston Smith, in the cruel totalitarian superstate of Oceania. The English Socialist
Party s (INGSOC, government) extensive oligarchical nature is established in the opening scene
through symbolism and personification, BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU. Big Brother, an
embodiment of the leader, evidently abuses power with omnipresent surveillance to perpetuate fear;
thus, it reflects a dictatorial regime and the desire to remove any opposing persons. It obliterates
any sense of privacy and safety. The paradoxical motif, issued by the Ministry of Truth, WAR IS
PEACE FREEDOM IS SLAVERY IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH, further denotes the overwhelming
influence authority exercises to indoctrinate its constitutes to accept diametrically contrasting
statements simultaneously as the truth. It is ironic that the Ministry of Truth exploits propaganda to
coerce public devotion, subsequently, quashing any notion of reluctance of disobedience. To
express his objective mind, Winston writes in his journal, Freedom is freedom to say that two plus
two make four. The journal is a symbol of his fight against false philosophies imposed upon society
and foreshadows the consequences of such
Human Abuse In The Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos islands are home to many endemic species such as the various species of tortoise
often associated with them. What they are known less for is the large quantity of invasive species
that also now inhabit the island thanks to man coming to and from the island with only himself in
mind. Since this issue has been noticed, transport to and from the islands has become quite
regulated and limited in the hopes of slowing this disaster in the works. This is seeming to work
but it isn t unlikely that all threats will be eradicated since humans will inevitably inhabit the island
(Santoso, 2014). This human presence will always be a problem but some have chosen to work
towards retribution. With over 1,000 invasive speciesnow inhabiting... Show more content on

The goat s appetite is also the main problem, they are literally eating everything on the islands,
leaving them barren. Action has already been taken on a rather extreme level. Project Isabela was
launched in 1997 with the goal of exterminating every feral goat with a clean shot to the head or the
heart (Hirsch, 2013). Highly skilled game wardens were trained and implemented with helicopters
and GIS mapping to employ aerial hunting and scanning to hunt all goats to extinction on the islands.
The goats quickly associated the helicopters with death and began hiding from them. Judas goats
were then introduced. A Judas goat is a female goat injected with hormones designed to keep her
in heat draw out males in hiding (Galapagos Conservancy, 2008). Increases in vegetation are
already being seen on the islands of project Isabela. The task at hand is so huge that 18 years later
goats are still being hunted. It has been found, however, that local fishermen have been known to
release more goats onto the islands to retaliate against the government for fishing regulations that
they don t agree with. This is clearly an issue Santoso foresaw with her disdain for human presence
