Ocular Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis or TB is a widespread, infectious disease caused by different strains of mycobacteria,
usually Mycobacterium tuberculosis (other species: bovis, africanum, and microt). It normally
affects the lungs but can also spread to other parts of the body. Ocular Tuberculosis refers to the
condition when the infection spreads to any part of the eye (or around the eye); this is a relatively
rare occurrence.
Extraocular TB is the infection of the external eye; it is quite rare and relatively easy to diagnose as
biopsies can be done to test for the infection. Intraocular TB, the more common form of Ocular
Tuberculosis is much more difficult to diagnose. Posterior uveitis or choroiditis, involving the
inflammation of the choroid, is the most common presentation of intraocular Tuberculosis.

PCR or Polymerase Chain Reaction is a Nucleic acid amplification test or NAAT that can be used to
diagnose Ocular TB by detecting nucleotide sequences unique to the bacterium being tested for (e.g.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis). PCR amplifies the signal from the small amount of bacilli present to
make it easier to confirm the presence of TB mycobacteria with the small volumes of ocular fluid
that can be obtained.
Treatment
When the presence of the TB bacilli is confirmed and ocular tuberculosis is diagnosed treatment is
usually started immediately. Treatment normally lasts at least 6 months and can sometimes take up
to 2 years. Treatment for ocular tuberculosis is the same as for pulmonary tuberculosis: usually four

The Battle Of Lexington And Concord
By the rude bridge that arched the flood, their flag to April s breeze unfurled, here once the
embattled farmers stood, and fired the shot heard round the world... primary source Ralph Waldo
Emerson s poem Concord Hymn was written about the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Although
this poem is not a good answer on who shot first during this battle, it does open the idea about the
battle itself and makes you think who shot first. I believe that the Americans shot first at this Battle.
What happened at the Battle of Lexington and Concord? Though it has been called a battle, it was
more of a skirmish. It happened on April 19th the year 1775 in Middlesex Country, province of
Massachusetts Bay during the American Revolution. The British were marching to Concord
because of the arms depot of the Americans. The Americans were out numbered, out gunned, and
not as well trained at the British soldiers. On the side of the road there were 40 to 100 speculators
of this event. When the British arrived one of the officers rode forward waving his sword and
called out to the militia to disperse and go home, as well as telling them Lay down your arms, you
damned rebels! But the Americans did not lay down their arms so the British commander Major
John Pitcairn told his men to hold fire as did the Americans leader, Captain John Parker, who was a
veteran from the French and Indian War (1754 1763). But, a shot was fired from an unknown
source. By the end of the fight eight militia men lay
Harry Potter Archetypes
Pop culture is defined as modern popular culture transmitted via mass media. With such a large
sphere of influence, it should come as no surprise that all of pop culture has an underlying basis in
psychology. From archetypes in beloved books to heated political debates, psychology plays a
crucial role in shaping society s entertainment and passions.
Carl Jung s archetypes can be found in just about any story one reads. The Hero , The Lover , The
Sage , etc. are all well known character bases that are established in our stories from a very young
age. However, they are particularly conspicuous in the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling.
In Harry Potter, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are shining examples of three of Jung s archetypes. The

By using this method, one can create a mental representation of a place, real or imaginary, and use
it to store pieces of information. This mental warehouse is sometimes referred to as a mind palace .
In regards to pop culture, the method of loci is an important plot device used in the television series
Sherlock. In the show, Sherlock Holmes can be seen using his mind palace to sort through
information in order to solve crimes. Besides fighting crime, you may be asking, what use is there
for a mind palace? Well, many stage performers use the method of loci too. Actors and actresses
can use the method to memorize their lines. Public speakers might use a mind palace to remember
the main points of their speeches. Some people even utilize the method of loci to compete in
memory competitions. These individuals are able to recall whole decks of cards just by imagining
walking through a location of their choice. In short, the method of loci is an interesting memory
assistant that plays a small, yet intriguing role in pop
A Paper on Political Ideologies
Dear Emperor Alvin,
How is 2046? I see The Hagios Empire is set up nicely. I love what you have done with the world,
I mean who would have thought that Africa could become the most developed continent? Do you
remember Ashesi? Well, I am in my first year here and I have to write this paper to you in order
to not repeat my Social Theory course. This paper just talks mainly about the political ideology
which I think is closest to my own political beliefs. Maybe, yours are now different from mine.
After all, 32 years is a long time. The political ideology which reflects my own beliefs most is
Liberalism. In case you have forgotten, Liberalism mainly says that all people should have the
maximum possible freedom to achieve fulfillment and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the long run, if the Way is truly the best way, the difference between those who follow the way
and those who do not will be very clear. Then the wise ones will follow the way, since the proof
that the Way is the best way is now clear. This was what I was thinking, and now you are here,
reading about Liberalism being my most favored ideology. With this solution that Liberalism brings,
however, there are some areas that I do not quite agree with. One of these is the concept of
utilitarianism, which believes that humans mainly gain happiness from consuming material goods
and services. I rather believe that the ability to enjoy these goods and services is a by product of
having other immaterial things, such as family, peace and good health. What do you think about
this? After all, if anyone should know whether having all you want and need brings real satisfaction,
it should be you, with all your material wealth.
In terms of human nature, Liberals believe that the nature of a person is innate, which is barely
affected by society or history. We believe that human beings are self reliant creatures and are
capable of personal development, especially if they have education (Heywood, 2012). All I am
saying in this plenty English is that, when a liberal sees a human being, he or she sees a
reasonable being, who if given the needed resources, is capable of developing his or her abilities to
make life better and
The Secret Service Agent ( Drug Enforcement Administration )
Do you have what it takes to become a secret service agents? What are the requirements to become
a secret service agent? What are different types of agencies that an agent could work for? Well a
secret service is an agent that protects and carry executive orders from their commanders to carry
on their missions. The U.S Secret Service has two major areas they are required to do. They are to
prevent financial crimes and protection who harms or threat our homeland which is the United States
of America. They have missions that take place all over the world. Agents have different agencies
they could work for like the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration). The DEA which is the (Drug
Enforcement Administration) was created by Richard Nixon through an Executive order in 1978.
When the DEA was first created it had about 1,740 secret agents and a budget less than $75 million.
Now in present time the agency now has about 5,000 agents and a budget that had increase to $2
million.
The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) was created in 1908 while President Theodore Roosevelt
was in office at the time. The FBI was created by Attorney General Charles Bonaparte. President
Roosevelt and Charles Bonaparte all came to a meeting in the office to approved this agency. That s
when President Roosevelt had made Attorney Charles Bonaparte to head to be the General of the
organization. Back in 1908 citizens of the United States appointed that they needed a federal
investigate service so the
Arnold Palmer Case
Arnold Palmer Hospital Case Study

1. The case study indicates that the approach to match capacity to demand utilized by Arnold
Palmer Hospital must be approach (a), leading demand with an incremental expansion. The reason
for this is that it is evident that Arnold Palmer Hospital is attempting to acquire capacity to stay
ahead of demand, or in other words by leading capacity, on account of the fact that the opening of
the new 11 store hospital building will increase yearly birthing capacity to 16,000, which is far
above the estimated 13,600 births expected during 2007, as shown by Table S7.3. Furthermore, the
fact that the hospital and Swanson in particular is choosing to follow a multi stage approach in terms

That is to say, the population in the area may for example be aging and thus birth rates may fall, etc.
Also, they need to look at the economic situation in the area as well. By that I mean looking at
whether young couples/families are continuing to move into the area? Are there enough job
opportunities in the area that will fuel growth of this demographic group? All this may affect
population growth and subsequently birth rates. 3. Using Excel s data analysis regression tool, the
follow data was found by plugging in the years (coded from 1 through 13) in column A and the
number of births in column B and then substituting column A for input X range and column B for

Living Wage Challenges
Risks and challenges of using a living wage Companies that use a living wage base system rather
than basing pay on the legal or market rate may face some challenges. Living wage, which is
essentially a minimum wage based on the cost of living in a particular region (Noe, Hollenbeck,
Gerhart, and Wright, 2014) has been used instead of the legal or market rate to pay low wage
employees in the hope that they will not need government assistance to supplement their income to
support their family. As Grant and Trautner states living wageordinances are founded on the
principle that an honest day s work should be rewarded by an honest day s pay, and local tax dollars
should not be used to finance poverty level jobs (2004). There may be benefits... Show more content

Employees that are aware they are getting paid less for doing the same job as someone else, even
in a different city, promotes a sense of unfairness. With the feeling of unfairness, they may not
work as hard as they would normally, they may quit and find employment elsewhere. IKEA s
challenge here is to inform the employee to know about the living wage and what it is supposed
to accomplish. Even though IKEA is not going to raise their prices to compensate for the increases
in payroll costs, other companies that utilize the living wage rates, may not be able to. So this is a
challenge that companies will face. If they raise their products or services rates too high they will no
longer be competitive in their market, thus losing revenue. This may lead to unemployment for the
employees or closing of the business itself because they could not meet the needs of their
Music And Dance In India
Throughout Indian culture, music and dance are the most distinguished art form within. The
range of musical variety in India expands far beyond simple melodies to intricately formed
classical sagas. India is the seventh biggest country in the world and the 3rd largest in the
northern hemisphere. Of the 29 states, it consists of a population of 1.32 billion citizens. Due to
its vastly increasing population, it s culture continues to adapt and thrive within an ever changing
society. The most vital and key ingredient within any Modern society is the ability to adapt to this
tool, this segways towards a wide variety of different sights and sounds flowing all around the
area. Despite the fact that Indian culture is well known for its exotic animals, foods and much
more. It is beloved for their art and music. Shortly after the sweet birth of music, came dance;
which originally served a spiritual purpose and described a spiritual energy that connected its
people with several figures within the Hindu religion. It wasn t till around 1960 when dance art
forms began turning towards more modern and western themes. In 1899 the first Bollywood short
film was screened for the first time, which planted seeds for pop culture to take root within music
and redesigned what Hindi music was and will ever be. In a western society like the United States,
Bollywood takes on the role of squashing the many stereotypes that linger and taint the image that
defines what exactly Indian
Reflection On Breaking The Elevator Norm
On Monday, October 16, 2017, around 1:00 o clock 2:00 o clock PM, my partner, Shantelle, and I
broke the elevator norm. Our setting took place at Miami Beach Community Health Center North
(Address: 11645 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33181) and the number of observers was about twenty.
The observers aged between 20 plus through 70 plus, we had observers from a pregnant womanto an
old man in a wheelchair, and from nurses to a security guard. Most of our spectators were women
and few were men, and race of the observers was among Hispanics and African Americans, if I m
not mistaken, I think there was an Indian/Bangladeshi woman. I think most of the observers are
middle class and most of the observers mood was nervous and quite because they were waiting
for a checkup or since it was a hospital. When my partner and I arrived at the health center, I was
nervous since I don t know how other people would react when I am facing them in the elevator.
On the first try, I did not say anything, nor I look at them because I got nervous. When the time
arrived for actually breaking the norm, I was scared since I don t know what the other person s
reaction would be. As I am facing the people on the elevator, I started to see the awkward look
coming from the people and I was feeling uncomfortable. There were some people who would just
look at their phone or look the other way as I make eye contact with them. The reason I felt
uncomfortable because no one usually make eye contact inside the
Elizabeth And Lydia And The Social Context Of Pride
The previous sections have shown that Mr. Darcy becomes attracted to Elizabeth s intelligence,
compassion and imprudent behavior. But if Elizabeth s liveliness and transgression enhance her
beauty, why doesn t Mr. Darcy fall in love with Lydia, whose transgression and vigor are even
more accentuated? By comparing Elizabeth and Lydia and by analyzing the openness of their
transgressions as related to the social context of Pride, it is possible to understand why Austen
favors Elizabeth as her heroine. Elizabeth asserts agency, but follows protocol (though she exploits
it for her own ends). Lydia, on the other hand, openly goes against conventions and, though she ends
up married to Mr. Wickham, a glimpse at her future suggests that she will not have a happy life. As
previously stated, Austen could not be too revolutionary in her writing and needed to conform to the
social expectation that transgressive women be punished. Austen cannot support Lydia s behavior
because if she did, she ran the risk of being outcast as a subversive writer. However, Austen does not
entirely conform to the conservative tradition of punishing transgressive women; she allows Lydia to
be married instead of ruining the family name and being abandoned and ostracized. By focusing on
Elizabeth s wit and intelligence and on the importance of female education, topics which were
accepted almost unanimously among her contemporaries , Austen diverts attention from the feminist
core of her work, which is

Unfortunately, during the years between 1992 and 1997, WM s management let their greed blind
them to these commitments. At which time they started to make fraudulent inputs into the

Dynacorp Case Analysis Essay
DYNACORP CASE ANALYSIS The political lens sees an organization as an arena for competition
and conflict among individuals, groups, and other organizations whose interest and goals differ and
even clash dramatically (Ancona, Kochan, Scully, Van Maanen, amp; Westney, 2005: M 2, 33). It

interests, and disagreements require political action, including negotiation, coalition building, and
the exercise of power and influence, all of which recognize that rationality is local (Ancona et al.,
